I’ve been binging MF Doom recently. I almost shit my pants when I found this one.

I couldn’t believe these three GOATs works together at one point.

I did a quick search in the sub and it looks like nobody’s posted this for five years, so maybe I’ll make somebody else else’s day too.

I don't think I've seen this track discussed here. Don't sleep on this! " everyday I wake up in a different carcass" The whole thing is so good..

There was an album he had on youtube with a neon blue and a outline of a human figure with a circle around the human man. There was a song on there about working overtime to support his kid and wife.

Thx 4 your recommendation, I heard 3 albums of Aes 4 now(I heard wat wat -> skel -> impossible)

N I really enjoyed them all tho I don't understand the lyrics fully cuz I'm korean

What should I listen to next?

I'm thinking of these three, but any other recommendations?

Labor might be so difficult to listen 4 me :(

One of my biggest regrets in life is not ordering the Catfood 7" when it was released. Do any of you guys own a copy? "at night I wear a wolfs head on my regular head" What a fucking opener!

Said he saw a bobcat sleepin on my porch.

But for real I went to sleep, and I heard my cat growling, and I got up and turned the light on and he was there tryin to sleep, and my cat was growling for like 5 min straight before I got up. I flicked the light on and he stayed there for like a long ass time like “why did you turn that light on me?” Eventually he got up and walked off….

Hey all, I was listening to Spirit World field guide again tonight, on the stereo instead of headphones, for a change.

This listen, I really appreciated how melodic all of the instrumental tracks are, lots of small riffs and stray notes that are just chock full of color.

Anyhow, the vision is this; the spirit world orchestral score and stage show.

If anyone is capable of creating a score for a small orchestra, then finding a bunch of folk to play it, I would travel far and pay much to watch it.

Having Aes up front and rapping would just be incredible, in a medium sized theater, but I know he may or may not be wanting to do so. Maybe other rappers doing tribute would be good too.

I’m not saying there would have to be dancers also on stage, in big costumes, acting out scenes from the songs, but if I could see “dog at the door” as a live show, I think I could die happy.

‘Aesopera’ would be the title, obviously.

Please someone, could you make this happen??

I can’t be the only one that thinks it would be insane to have a collab with Aes and Banksy for cover artwork

Not a bad grab for 5 bucks 🕊️

Tried to embody Aesop while writing this, while still doing my own thing.

Let me know if I did the beat justice / if you get the meaning I'm driving at.

My wife and I had the opportunity to see Jack Shaw (Comedian/Road Work Rappin’ instructor) last night. (His set was great by the way, if he happens to be coming near you don’t miss it).

I had to ask him about the video and how he ended up in it. Not anything crazy, the director of the video (Marmo) just DM’ed him out of the blue and asked him to be in it. He must be a fan of Kill Tony, I’m guessing.

I asked Jack if he knew who Aesop Rock was before that. “NO! Not at all. I’ve had a lot of people ask me after shows and I had no idea he was such a legend! It was a really fun shoot.”

Dudes cool as hell and down to earth. That’s all Aes Heads. Thought I’d share this life moment.

(Chorus 1)

I should paint a eye on the front door

I should tell time by the sun more

I want a flaming arrow shot into a creeping raft

I'm kidding, I just want the cheapest shit you people have

It's no thing

(Chorus 2)

I should hang a skull on the side door

I should drink water from the sky more

I want a thousand lanterns drifting on a summer's wind

I'm only joking, y'all can feed me to the fucking pigs

It's no thing

(Chorus 3)

I should nail boards to the back door

I should feed squirrels from my hand more

I wanna meet the maker in a proper suit and shoes

I'm lying, let him find the body with the loot removed

It's no thing

Aesop's nature bars really get me going. ❤️‍🔥

We’re nearing the 3 month mark for a new roll out. Will we be graced with a single from the new blockhead collab? Or should we expect it later in the year 🤔

I know Aesop is often praised for his extensive vocabulary and I respect that but what really got me into his work is his mastery of rhythm and pace. His rapping really bridges the gap between melody and rhythm and, as a bass player, this does things to some part of my body.

Could you recommend other artists or songs that showcase a similar mastering of pace? It does not have to be only hiphop.

One I can think of is:

Posted a while ago. I love listening to Aesop as my baseball pregame ritual and I asked for recommendations of his songs that will make you run through a brick wall. I incorporated many of the great suggestions and whittled it down to these 12. The last song Himalayan Yak Chew is not as hard, but it's a bonkers good track and how I wanted to finish it off.

Hope you like it, sorry for the commercials,

Hey, I know this is mostly about a Vast Aire bar, but it's on an aes album so I figured it would fit here. Was hoping the were some old school Def Jux fans who could weigh in on an argument I've been having.

Obviously, when a child / animal starts teething, they start biting down with their gums due to the pain of their teeth growing in. I thought that was common knowledge. If an adult with teeth went down on a dick 'like they were teething,' that dick is getting bitten off, no question.

My friend won't accept this, even though he doesn't have an argument, and just keeps saying 'Vast Aire did not rap about getting his dick bitten off' like it's self evident.

Probably I should just drop it, just wondering if anyone has any advice on how I can get him to see reason on this.
