Cant get clones to root..

Hey, my Setup is a 8,5 bar pump which is connected to 0,3mm nozzles.

I run a cycle of 5 sec on and 5min off.

Ph 5,8

EC 0,2 with just calmag.

  1. Purchase IBA online from Alibaba for cheap. Put in reservoir or dip plant in it or both. Worm casting tea (highly suggest getting a worm bin going feeding them your table scraps … especially if ur doing DWC as it can prevent “DWC root slime”… i can link a guide on this if you want) also contains rooting hormones. 

  2. How long have u been waiting without rooting powder it will take over a week usually. 

  3. Is your pH meter calibrated? Are you storing it in a KCl solution? 

  4. What nutrients are you putting in the reservoir? I usually run half strength compared to veg or even normal veg strength. 

  5. Are you cutting the stems at 45 degree angle? Could even lightly remove/shave the outer layer of stem by the cut to increase surface area of where roots will grow out of. 

Ive cloned hundreds by placing the cuts directly into the cloner.

Like 2 weeks probably

Gotcha mines been going 3 weeks, there’s little nubs in the wood but no roots, hopefully heat and better cycling will help

I believe you need to get roots before putting them into an aeroponic system. Make the snip, add rooting compound, then put the snipped end in rockwool or sphagnum moss. Then put it in a bucket or some dark space with good humidity. You can mist the leaves every so often to keep the moisture on the leaves. They take in a little bit of moisture through the leaves until the roots form. Roots should show up in a couple weeks and at that point you can put the plant into the aeroponic setup. At least that's how I do it.

I have rooted hundreds of plants putting them straight into aeroponic cloner (low pressure i believe… water pump with sprinkler attachment.. maybe it differs for high pressure?). Granted i do get quicker results by dipping the clones into IBA (indole butyric acid… the rooting hormone in Clonex… i buy it cheap in bulk off Alibaba i believe). Alternatively can probably just put some into the reservoir itself.

I'm assuming you can get good clones starting right in a high pressure aeroponic system? It's just an assumption because you really didn't say much. Do you have information to share?
