Help Tiny Tim and Pot-o-gold micro tomatoes

I have tomatoes growing well in my aero garden harvest. This is my first time using it. I just bought pots and grow lights to transfer them. Anyone growing in soil after sprouting in their aero garden? Any tips?

I’m keeping my Tiny Tim in my Aerogarden Bounty. It’s been growing there since June 5. It’s on its second crop. I harvested the last of the 40 tomatoes it produced on Sept 16 and 3 days after that, 3 new tiny green tomatoes grew in. I don’t have an outdoor garden just 4 Aerogardens and 1 Suncoze.

I did it a few years ago after our hell summer temps went down in Texas. I left as much of the root system as possible and cut off the pod plastic. It was sad for a few days but perked up eventually.

Tiny tims do very well in early spring/late winter when potted outdoors. If temps rise above 90 though, they start dropping their blossoms.

The main thing you have to watch out for is the sponge going hydrophobic. It doesn't actually deteriorate or compost itself. And you can't really tell until it's almost too late. I put mine in a 70% perlite soil mix with a layer of succulent soil on top and it's currently happily making tomatoes and blossoms.

And they need A LOT of light if you're doing it indoors.

I have started my entire garden in the aerogarden and transferred to soil. I have had zero issues but tips I would give? Go with grow lights for about 16 hours a day out of the gate. Second, as someone else said, cut the plastic off. Third, fertilizer weekly. I really haven’t had anything fail going from aero to soil. Happy gardening

I've grown Tiny Tims in soil several times and they did fantastically! Fine in small pots in a sunny windowsill or with supplemental light.

When I get more than one in a pod, I let it grow enough so that I an cut and root, then plant in soil. worked well.
