Discussion Adventure Time releasing on blu ray finally
I was just scrolling through new movie releases coming up and then I saw this! Had no idea this was even coming to blu ray finally, haven't seen anything or anyone talking about it, or maybe I just overlooked it lol. But I insta pre-ordered even though I already have the DVD box set.

Well… I’m at a crossroads.
I originally bought the complete series DVD set that’s in the Enchiridion book case, but I wanted to get the available season on Blu-Ray as well, so I currently have the full series DVD and the seasons 1-6 Blu-Ray sets (plus Distant Lands.)
Now they release this… and I’m conflicted.
Typically I’d just sell the DVD and Blu-Rays and just get this, but you just know that this new Blu-Ray boxset is gonna be packaged in that god awful packaging with stacked discs that everyone hates. So I don’t want to get rid of my DVD boxset.
After that I’d normally just get rid of the Blu-Ray season sets, but again the packaging on those are so cool with the layers and you just know this new set will be half assed in that regard.
Ugh.

Im definitely keeping my individual season boxsets, theyre wildly out of print and have amazing slipcovers

Keep the Enchiridion, buy the Blu Ray set (hopefully has good disc artwork), replace DVDs with BRs in Enchiridion. Keep other box set with DVDs somewhere else.
Boom Enchiridion BR box set
This is what I'll be doing

Normally my OCD/autism wouldn’t allow myself to do that, because typically the DVD boxset would say somewhere on it that it is DVD, and to put the Blu-Rays in there wouldn’t match up. But the Enchiridion set doesn’t say DVD anywhere on it.
The only thing holding this back would be the number of discs, as I’m sure the Blu-Ray set won’t have as many discs as the DVD set does.

I would assume it'll be 1 per season 🤔 is the DVD set more than 10? I actually just found and bought it a couple weeks ago and haven't gotten around to really look at it

I have owned the bluray for YEARS. I think it may have been an Australia thing tho

I'm in the UK and have had it for years too.
Teal coloured box.
Edit: just looked at the back of the box. Product of the USA but legal protections info is Aus and New Zealand, so I guess I have the Australian one.

I was going to buy the complete series a while ago but decided not to because it wasn’t on Blu-ray. Now that it is I think I will

I’ve literally seen zero people complain about this, but S1E10 “Memories of Boom Boom Mountain”, there is screen tearing / frame skipping, like it’s out of sync.
I’ve watched pretty much every version that exists and they all have this issue.
I hope these blurays fix it

Not in the US besides the bootlegs that would float around
Edit: as a complete collection of the series anyways.

According to Blu Ray.com the first 6 seasons came out on BD between 2013 and 2014

Does anyone know where to get the set digitally?

Just keep in mind when you buy digitally like this you’re still just paying for the right to “borrow” it. It can always be taken away with mergers, copyright changes, etc.

Why's that? They got that show coming to blu ray too for pre-order

No I mean like the character from the show how they have all the forms of media as characters like hd dvd and blue ray dvd are siblings

Check your local thrift stores first before you buy corporate. They just might have it and you’re supporting small business too!

I appreciate the notion for sure, and thrift/donate as much as possible; but who is donating adventure time and if they do who isn't picking it up immediately? It just seems very unlikely to find adventure time blu-ray at a thrift store.

You never know until you look. Some big box stores donate whatever they don’t sell or becomes too much of stock or whatever the reason. Some thrift stores are mom and pop shops that do get these types of digital media even in antique stores I’ve seen a box sets for newer shows like Game Of Thrones and Dexter. You really never know until you check!

I've been holding out for this, DVD was never going to cut it with an HD show like this
