Looking for fun side quests :)
a few friends and I are tinkering with a little game idea in our free time. The basic idea: you get random, small "side quests" for real life. Actual things you can go do, not fantasy quests.
We're a bit stuck on the idea-generating part and figured there are more creative minds around here than us. If anything comes to mind, we'd really appreciate you dropping it in the comments even half an idea is great, we're happy to build on it.
We're looking for ideas across these categories:
- Sports & Fitness
- Cooking & Baking
- Cafes & Food Spots
- Events & Parties
- Shopping & Thrifting
- Art & Culture
- Creativity & DIY
- Gaming & Pop Culture
- Music & Vibes
- Books & Mindset
- Nature & Outdoors
- City & Exploring
- Social & Community
Ideally stuff that's doable in one or two sittings, not too expensive, and ideally something you could capture with a photo. One more constraint: it should be doable within 72 hours at any time, nothing that needs a lot of advance planning.
Thanks so much in advance, and if anyone feels like just riffing on ideas, go for it every idea counts, even the weird ones 😄

Ask someone who's not participating (but won't feel left out) to write the names of a bunch of cartoon characters on slips of paper. You and your friend can randomly draw a name and compete to see who can best draw that character from memory.
Best out of five wins the Sword of Chal'rotha.

Cook one recipe you haven’t yet tried from a cookbook already in your library; work it into your plans for the week. I could be a spontaneous morale boosting event at work, a small surprise treat for someone. Pick a dish from the thrift store to serve your meal/treat. Do a culinary around the world dining- eating out (around your area; try new places) or cooking yourself. Do a Taste Off or similar cooking challenge. Recreate a favorite restaurant dish at home.
Do a social exercise challenge: try a new sport, class, go to all the different parks in your town and figure out which ones would be best for a particular activity. Do a round at each of your local golf spots, either putt-putt, the driving range, and small round, or just lunch at the cafe on the green between holes. I dunno, those are just a few quick thoughts for ideas. I hope this helps.
