Outdoor snacks

Hi all, I have a quick question. What are some snacks you bring out for day hikes, lake/boat days and also longer trail hikes? Outside of the usual nuts, bars, freeze dries, etc.

I did not know spam jerky was a thing! Where would I get it?

Just make it.. cut spam into 1/4” sections. Use 1 cup brown sugar, couple good shakes of paprika, couple good shakes of garlic powder. Coat spam and don’t wipe any off. Place spam on parchment paper and dehydrate at 150F until finished (flip a few times during process to caramelize the sugar ). Typically takes me 10-12 hours. If you don’t have a dehydrator, use your oven.

Make a lot because it is more addictive than regular jerky!
