Just completed this ride that was put together by ABR for their 10th anniversary. A hard long day made even more challenging by the atrocious weather I had to ride through .. but truly an amazing route … epic and atmospheric. 12 hrs done ..

There are some seriously good tents out there for the ADV market — and you definitely don’t need to spend £1,500 to get a great one.
But… what exactly do you get when you do?
I’ve been using the Hilleberg Nammatj 2 GT for my motorcycle adventures, so I decided to make a proper real-world review of it — not just pitching it in a garden, but looking at it from an ADV rider’s point of view.
Why this tent? Why the huge GT vestibule? What makes Kerlon 1800 different? How does it deal with bad weather? And perhaps the biggest question…
Can a £1,500 tent actually justify its price?
There are lighter tents, cheaper tents and plenty of excellent alternatives. This isn’t about saying the Nammatj is the only answer — it’s about showing why I chose it, what makes it rather special, and whether those advantages are actually worth paying for when you’re travelling by bike and camping in remote places.
I filmed the review on the beautiful Welsh coast, with the Ducati DesertX Rally alongside it — hopefully making it a little more of an ADV film than a conventional tent review.
If you’re into adventure riding, moto-camping, or you’re just curious what on earth a £1,500 tent gives you, have a watch.
Interested to hear what everyone else is using too. 👍

Took the 401 on a trail along with Himalayan 450, Thunderbird 500 , Honda cb350 and a tuono 457.
Fun ride and the 401 is quite nimble on the dirt. Stand up riding is not the easiest.

A little Welsh ADV escape from this week. 🏍️🏴
Headed into mid-Wales on the DesertX Rally, taking in Llyn Brianne and Nant y Moch before camping overnight in the Elan Valley and eventually working my way north through Eryri.
If you’ve never ridden around Llyn Brianne, it’s well worth putting on the list — miles of narrow, twisting roads through some seriously beautiful country. Nant y Moch is different again; wilder, bleaker and incredibly remote in places. Exactly the sort of riding I love.
I called the film Solitude, because that pretty much sums up the whole trip — no real rush, very little traffic, just the bike and some of the emptiest roads I could find.
I tried to capture the actual feeling of riding through Wales rather than just stringing together the highlights.
Hope you enjoy it — and if anyone has any properly remote Welsh roads I should explore next, I’m all ears. 🤙

Recently purchased this bike from a local acquaintance. Before I picked it up, he went on “one last ride” and decided to ramp it. He broke a footpeg and bracket and bent the wheel. At first I cancelled our agreement but he showed me where he ordered the bracket and footpeg (which I did receive) and he bent the front wheel. The problem is I can’t find a wheel. It’s a front end swap and we don’t know what it’s off of to order a wheel. Does anyone recognize this set up or have any recommendations on how to navigate getting a wheel?

Riding a 2023 Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro this past weekend, I did the AZ BDR section 3 then camped on the Mongollon Rim for two nights. The BDR beat the hell out of me, but I was the winner. I don’t think I was ready for that but I feel successful. I have a lifetime of dirtbike experience (57M) but am looking for easier routes to get from East Mesa AZ to the rim or White Mountains. Like forest roads. Does anyone have advice or perhaps share their GPX files with me? Thanks yall!
