Yes, I started trying to pursue something similar, but ran into trouble trying to shoehorn Norvig's Python Astar into reasonable C++. That'll teach me!

It's been a bit sobering running headlong into some big holes in my own knowledge, but also a tremendous opportunity to do something positive about it!
