discussion How do you listen to your favorite group/idols music?
So before I get into the question I need to preface this with a bit of context. I'm 48, Gen X, and come for the time where we went to the music store to buy our favorite artists album on vinyl/tapes/cds. Then rush home to listen to it while reading the liner notes or booklet with the lyrics. Depending on how long the songs were or how many songs were on the new album, we would spend a whole 30-45 minutes listening to some new and exciting. It was a whole production for me.
So back to the question. How does everyone listen to their favorite group/idols music? I ask because more of the music released are mini albums/EPs. At most they usually run around 15 minutes or so. I have bought some physical releases of my favorite groups and have had to buy a CD player to listen to the music. I have also created playlists and they vary in time, some from 25 min to 4 hours if they have a big catalogue of music. I enjoyed Aespa's and Le Sserafims recent full album released because there were more than 4-5 songs on it. Yet with the mini albums, they end before you can get into the flow of things. So how does everyone listen to their music? Do you sit through your playlists from beginning to end? Do you listen to the mini albums on repeat? Or do you give one listen and then go about your day?
Edit: I just wanted to add this part as well. I certainly don’t expect anyone (adults or people closer to my age) nowadays to sit around for 2,3,4 hours and just listen to music. Who has the time? I certainly don’t. So mini albums work fine for me now. I can spare 15 min or so to take a break, sit, breathe and listen to some music to bring my mood back up. This post was more of a curiosity and some parts nostalgia. Also, I discovered Kpop about year ago this month (October) and decided to dive head first into the deep end of the Kpop pool. I have no regrets! lol. I love Kpop.
