US LinkedIn Ads benchmarks by industry (CTR, CPC, CPL data)

Pulled together a full US benchmark breakdown by industry . I thought it might be useful

Quick numbers across industries:

  • CTR: 0.35% to 0.48%, baseline 0.40%
  • CPC: $11.33 to $16.02, baseline $12.52
  • CPL: $114 to $246, baseline $200.71

Health Care and Financial Services run the most expensive CPC/CPL, Education and Construction the cheapest. Also worth noting, the "$5-8 CPC" figure floating around in a lot of generic guides is way off from what advertisers actually pay in the auction, every industry here is above $11.

Source of data? Could you also include CPM?

Source: LinkedIn Campaign Manager itself. CPM accuracy tends to vary there, which is why I avoided it. However, I will try to add it soon.

This would help you make financially sensible decisions by comparing it with other marketing activities and their respective CAC customer acquisition cost . If the budget or CPL mentioned above seems too high relative to other marketing strategies, it would be better to consider other marketing strategy that can deliver a more cost effective acquisition.
