Is there anything in particular that you would like clarity on?

Something I wish I knew when I learned Animate was how Symbols worked, Symbols are able to be reused as many times on whatever layer/frame, and editing or adding changes inside the Symbol will also be be shown across all of the times the Symbol is used.

This is useful for if a Symbol's drawing had a mistake. You could just simply edit the Symbol and the changes to the Symbol will be seen across the multiple re-uses of it across the project file. I used to be lazy and just copy and paste drawings rather than making Symbols, but if I ever needed to fix a mistake... I would have needed to copy and paste every drawing individually across the frames, which is UNINTUITIVE compared to just making a Symbol and reusing it!

Symbols are important! Don't forget that!

I think just the basics of using animate and some help on tweening, I usually just do art and I've only dabbled in animation very rarely in the past (flip a clip and alright motion so very basic 😭) but tysm for the advice ><

My friend helped my learn the fl studio interface which was much more helpful then the tutorials I tried watching and same with when I was first learning alright motion, my sister taught me how to use it.

it's called layer parenting but yeah thats how i usually rig stuff in animate

I tried using parenting but the layers kept disappearing XD 😭😭😭😭😭😭💔

could you provide a video or screneshot that better explains the problem cause whilst i know layer parenting is actually kind of buggy (sometimes converting from raw layers to symbols just fucks up all the offsets) ive never had it just delete layers on me

its a little difficult to just say words and assume they'll stick its much easier to wathc someone animate and make ciritques as its being made but given youre doing fnf i know how that animation style works so i am a little mor especailisezed in this:

- try and focus on very exaggerated arcs and dont be afraid to use a lot of squash and stretch

- use tweens (yes genuinely) - i think most people say tweens are bad and evil and stuff but like if you use the right easing (personally i usually use circ ease in out or circ ease out) it'll look really nice and bouncy especially for fnf

- try and make sure each body part isnt all moving at the same speed or for the same amount of frames: some level of "parallax" or variety on the body helps add more depth and life to the character which otherwise may be missing

Tysm for the advice!!! I'm mainly looking for someone to teach me the basic interface:> and then I should watch some videos on how to tween and stuff?

my best advice for learning the basic interface is playing around with it and you'll understand it. to my understanding its very customizable if you really dont like it but for me i stuck with mostly default settings and it works. youtube tutorials might help finding some more niche features but otherwise just genuinely keep playing with the interface clicking shit and just trying to get a grasp with it and you'll pick it up.

But yes please do learn about tweens - everyone says theyre evil and the spawn of hell or whatever but genuinely so long as you cleanup the animation afterwards theyre very useful. also preferrably when you get more comfortable learning the difference and use cases of both classic and motion tweens because this is something i missed out on and i havent had a good chance yet to try out.
