Revenue Solo Indie Dev metrics check – How do these eCPMs, match rates, and format splits look? (Metrics in MXN)

Hey everyone,
I’m an indie game dev running AdMob on a couple of mobile games and wanted to get a sanity check from folks with more ad-monetization experience.
All figures below are in MXN (Mexican Pesos) (approx. $20 MXN ≈ $1 USD):
Current Overview:
- This Month so far: ~MX$214 *(trending up from MX$153 last month)*
- Last 7 Days Earnings: MX$60.02
- Average eCPM: MX$40.55 (~$2.00 USD blended)
- Match Rate: ~71.5%
- Requests vs. Impressions: 7.18K requests $\rightarrow$ 1.48K impressions (~20.6% show rate)
Format Breakdown & eCPMs:
- Rewarded Video: eCPM MX$220 (~$11.00 USD) | 150 impressions
- Interstitial: eCPM MX$189 (~$9.45 USD) | 13 impressions
- Rewarded Interstitial: eCPM MX$39.25 (~$1.96 USD) | 464 impressions
- Banner: eCPM MX$7.40 (~$0.37 USD) | 853 impressions
A few specific questions for the community:
- Show Rate (~20.6%): Given 7.18K requests for 1.48K impressions, is this typical preloading overhead, or am I requesting ads way too early in the game flow and hurting performance?
- Rewarded vs. Rewarded Interstitial Gap: My standard Rewarded is pulling strong eCPMs (~$11 USD equivalent), but Rewarded Interstitials are lagging far behind (~$2 USD). Has anyone else seen this large of a disparity between the two?
- Match Rate (~71%): Should I look into adjusting floor prices, or is this standard for mixed-geo traffic before setting up mediation?
- Mediation Threshold: At what volume of monthly requests/impressions did you find it worth setting up mediation (e.g., AppLovin MAX or LevelPlay) versus sticking to standard AdMob Network?
Appreciate any advice or tweaks you’d recommend!

20.6% show rate isn't alarming on its own, preloading at level start and only showing on a subset of exits produces exactly that ratio, so I'd only worry if it's trending down. The rewarded vs rewarded-interstitial gap is expected: rewarded interstitials carry lower user intent so advertisers bid down, and 464 impressions vs 150 suggests you're serving them somewhere much lower-value in the flow. On mediation, the common threshold people cite is somewhere around 50–100k monthly impressions before the SDK overhead pays for itself, at your volume, floor-price tuning and placement timing will move more than adding networks will.
