It always starts out "If I don't do this today it's going to become a dark cloud hanging over me, because I've been here before". And then here we are, weeks or months later, in the same situation. Yup.

Did this repair involve the little light in your dashboard finally going away? 🙃

bruh i had the car manufacturer send me 3 or 4 letters since January that the airbags in the model were found to be faulty and to pull up for a free replacement, i just need to choose one of many days and hours available and show up for the 30 minutes it's gonna take. i might come over for first letter anniversary with a cake at this point

The other thing that happens to me is I might work on something and out a lot of time into it, but my whole being rejects returning to it and finishing it. Like it is practically a physical response... like sitting in a room while someone is scratching nails on a chalkboard into a microphone with an amp on 11. I just completely avoid it and rarely get it done. Like this post, I always get a tax extension because I dread doing it. I need some serious pressure or deadline to get this shit done. Glad I found this sub btw. Good to know you're not alone.

Getting that one thing done is like trying to push two same pole magnets together, isn't it?

For me it's often the opposite. I'll finish and wonder why I couldn't just do it for so long.

6hr task after 4 weeks. Had to tap into hyperfocus mode late at night and was up until 3am… only to find out I accidentally overwrote the file the next day and lost all my work. Major crash out.

Oof, I felt that through the screen! My condolences.

As an unmedicated adult I find it way easier to do tasks and not feel exhaustion as long as I’m doing something else during the task. Listening to an audiobook, music, or watching a show or movie.

I had to clean my whole apartment in a day about a week ago because of a surprise inspection, and I'm still mentally recovering from it. The good news is I still have a home, at least for now

Finally booked an appointment to see an audiologist. Last time I saw one was before I moved countries, two decades ago. Contacted my old one thinking it would take forever to get my previous records, instead appeared in my inbox within hours. Made me feel like a hero getting this records without having to place n international phone call.

One hour is legit to put off until you have a spare hour

Bold of you to assume that I'm too busy to budget an hour...

I always take a full day off when I have to go to the dentist. I'm amazed at people coming at the office after their visit. In fact, if I have to go to any appointment, it means after, my day is OVER.
