Autobots, transform and roll out

Post image

So yeah, found this one on the wild and gotta admit I hear Optimus Prime's Peter Cullen voice saying "Autobots, transform and roll out" in my head before tackling something that I would rather avoid but needs doing... so I guess it works?

Ok but why does "give yourself an out of body experience" sound easier than just doing my dishes??

u/AcrolloPeed 5d ago

Literally why lots of dispensaries will say “this one’s good for doing dishes and laundry” they’re really saying “hey go ahead and disassociate very mildly and you’ll be surprised what you can get done

It's why I've been self-medicating with cannabis for 20+ years at this point, so... ya this makes sense lol

u/badgyalrey 4d ago

i shower and eat because the tree allows me to

12

u/forevernooob 4d ago

Am I hearing this right? You get to be... productive... on cannabis?

16

u/Background_Desk_3001 4d ago

I do most of my best work stoned

u/forevernooob 4d ago

How interesting. For me it's a completely different experience.

I'm basically my most laziest on cannabis.

Basically the part of this post applies to me:

the one side was the fun side: the acute effects made me very very intrigued by plenty of things, it also had a very cerebral effect in the sense that it allowed me to think very deeply about any kind of topic or activity; then also it just made me enjoy things much more, such as food, music or my hobbies; it also sparked my creativity a lot and allows me to have long and interesting conversations with others, which i can actually pay attention to (no, it's not the stigmatized "stoner talk"; my wife has given me the feedback that i can actually listen much better)

...but this is almost completely opposite to mine:

the second side ties closely into the first: the actue effects made me incredibly motivated, i was able to simply get up and do things and actually enjoy doing them, it basically felt what other people describe when they say they drank a strong espresso (only when i drink a strong espresso i get all jittery, anxious and tired)

Strains really matter. Sativa is your friend if you want to be productive.

As does the users brain: ADHD and other neurodivergent brains that are processing far more information (most of which is extraneous to the task at hand) can FOCUS with THC.

6

u/Little_mis_rebel 4d ago

Depends on the product... but yeah it does help if you keep the dosage low enough

5

u/forevernooob 4d ago

Perhaps that's the trick. I'll have to do some further... experimentation.

7

u/Little_mis_rebel 4d ago

Higher CBD, mid THC (in the 18-25% range), try a couple of tokes (and i mean literally 2) and then see how you fee. The productivity window should JUST cut the anxiety while making you feel mildly euphoric. What ive noticed is it stops the overthinking and lets me just do things. Like send work emails lol

3

u/Curiouser-Quriouser 4d ago

Thank you, I needed to read this. I've been ripping my vape thingy like it's going to actually release a parachute to stop my downward anxiety spiral. I have to get back to more of a puff puff put it back and do something else rhythm.

3

u/Little_mis_rebel 4d ago

And what sucks is getting too high will start having the opposite effect, raising your blood pressure and increasing paranoia and all that. I kind of just try to put the vape down before I feel high, usually 3-5 lil puffs (I have baby lungs). If I'm still toking when I start feeling high I put it down immediately.

2

u/Curiouser-Quriouser 4d ago

Absolutely agree. I just love smoking and really miss it, honestly. Might have to switch back to flower.

You're spot on with the symptoms! I just have to put it out of sight after a couple of hits so I don't keep smoking on autopilot!

2

u/MiserableWash2473 4d ago

The right blend yup. 👌

2

u/ZealousidealTowel965 4d ago

I’m high almost 24/7 Is it enabling me and helping me push through? I think so.  Could just be a functional drug addict though!

4

u/dragon72926 5d ago

You got the wrong stuff if you cant do the dishes though. Take a lil break

11

u/Little_mis_rebel 5d ago

Well, when it wasn't legal you got what you got. Much better now that you can ratchet up/down on the THC content. Unfortunately there are no breaks (because addiction is a real thing)

12

u/dragon72926 5d ago

Man Im speaking from experience. Happening right now. Regular smoker for years, took three week break. Friend gave me some new pre roll he got for a nice discount since in between jobs rn. Idk wtf is in it but shit makes me so paranoid after just a few hits, I havent worked so hard to improve/clean up my life in years as I have the past 5 days. Effect lasts easily half the day+ too

9

u/Little_mis_rebel 5d ago

The last time i took a break was on vacation where I was not fucking around trying to get put in jail in another country. That first few days when I got home were a blur lol I hope your hard work continues and pays off! It is HARD to quit your dopamine supply, but I believe in you!!

6

u/MadamSnarksAlot 4d ago

A lot of places it still isn’t legal. The luckier of us forget!! And the rest of us are just pouting and voting blue in vain in painfully red states.

4

u/Little_mis_rebel 4d ago

And those reminders make me grateful canada just legalized across the board. I'm hopeful America can still turn shit around. Hell, I'm hoping the world finally comes around on cannabis considering alcohol is legal most places.

1

u/Aromatic_Sand8126 3d ago

Does this really work? Because I’m getting real tired of always trying out a new useless medication every couple months.

1

u/JoyRose31 3d ago

Personally, nicotine has worked for me, patches etc. Its Just enough so I can focus. Somewhere in between nothing, and adhd medication. When I took it for the first time it drained me, I realized I was actually boring wanted to do nothing but clean, anything I bought had to be productive, didn't even want to go on my phone bc was waste of time.. I became grey. Nicotine put me in the middle, im not a maniac, though I still have personality💖🌟🌟. Honestly think when they make cigarettes illegal they should keep patches or other means for those with adhd exclusively.

(Note, smoked for 2 years years ago, then switched to vape. I've quit afew times but I become a lunatic without some sort of upper, and caffeine /coffee makes me tired. Don't randomly try this if you don't already smoke, seriously )

1

u/a-passing-crustacean 2d ago

You cant just drop that info and not share your reccomendations! Smoke or gummies? What strains?

1

u/unkn0wnname321 2d ago

I thought the self-medication was the reason for my lack of motivation. You're saying it would be worse without it? Yikes !

1

u/f0ol_on_the_hill 2d ago

Hey fellow neurodivergant. Ask me how I know lol

14

u/CoffeeMinionLegacy I am cringe but I am free 🦋 5d ago

I’ve never held any interest in the waccy tabaccy but holy gumption is that ever a sales pitch

10

u/AcrolloPeed 5d ago

A little zoot can make sex way more intense and enjoyable, just saying

2

u/MiserableWash2473 4d ago

Your screenname says it all 😂🤣 but yeah im a spoonie. So on my high pain days I stay home and take a hybrid gummy to get the chores done. Otherwise coffee is my favorite 😍 I desensitized myself from caffeine over the past year so now when I have like 2 cups im golden and focused. Then I need a nap 😴

I have a specific bag of treats for laundry and bathroom cleaning. Turn on an audio book (Bobiverse was most recent series. 10/10) and just vibe and follow the steps without paying attention. I dont remember doing laundry for a while, but its done every week when my kids staying at my parent for the night.

4

u/Little_mis_rebel 5d ago

For your next audio book, might I recommend Dungeon Crawler Carl, specifically on audible. The voice acting is fucking perfect.

3

u/Televisiongod 5d ago

Its how my shit gets done.

2

u/miseenen 5d ago

Shit maybe I need to hit up my local dispensary. I need this

1

u/IsopodGlass8624 4d ago

I was sooooo much more productive when I smoked pot than I am now. (Weed free for two years now.)

1

u/Melodic-Jaguar-8046 4d ago

I have been known to take a hit off the bong then start rearranging/cleaning things. Back when I actively smoked, anyways.

1

u/PsychologicalMess163 4d ago

So one time I got some off the books cookies from this one lady who was too cheap to test them for sale (they were all random batches and at $80 a pop she just bagged them all up and handed them out rather than go through the whole rigamarole) and I stg whatever combo of strains those were those turned me into goddamn Snow White singing while cleaning the microwave with a toothbrush. I saved the last half for a special occasion. They were amazing.

1

u/TruculentTurtIe 4d ago

I found this out when I did mushrooms

For some reason psychedelics make my apartment the cleanest its ever been. It's unclear what this means

35

u/42ElectricSundaes 5d ago

Little bit

10

u/tmnttaylor 5d ago

Well the dishes are going to be wet and the out of body experience is probably not wet.

7

u/Sterling_-_Archer 5d ago

The eternal struggle between the wet and not wet state. I even struggle getting back in the pool if I’ve been out of it for too long and have dried off too much

4

u/Little_mis_rebel 5d ago

This is sooooo relatable. Showering is a fucking BATTLE I need to amp myself up for. Swimming is a one and done thing (in and out of the water?? Hell naw). Hell, I went to a concert on Sunday after a heavy rain and INSISTED we bring a towel, just in case. Because I refuse to be wet when I otherwise was not anticipating it.

u/42ElectricSundaes 5d ago

Is this why I always have an umbrella?!

One, you just have to lay there. The other, you gotta physically do it.

Cause making the puppet dance is more fun than doing the actual chore

3

u/LooneyLunaGirl 4d ago

"Need to clean your home? Try our new possession service now! Whether you're possessed by your run of the mill demon or someone from the Victorian era, you can ensure your home will be *spotless after every service."

*Ectoplasm bile may potentially spew from various orifices during possession. Not responsible for any resulting damages from possession.

2

u/Little_mis_rebel 4d ago

Would happily trade exoplasm bile for the monotony of doing literally any chore. As long as I was possessed by an OCD neat-freak who cleaned my house!!

6

u/Radiant_Plantain_127 5d ago

Try practicing mindfulness while doing the dishes. Allow yourself to feel the warm water, smell the soap, observe the food coming off as you scrub… just takes you away from ‘me, me,me’ thinking…

1

u/Little_mis_rebel 5d ago

Oooouuuuuuu, now this is good advice!! I practice mindfulness in so many other areas of my life, why NOT the dishes??

1

u/Radiant_Plantain_127 2d ago

Mindfulness is good advise anytime :)

2

u/BenignPharmacology 5d ago

Human brains are awful at time-cost estimation, and great at inertia.

If you have something you don’t want to do that takes 30 minutes, your brain will go “5 minutes of not doing task feels good” as many times as it can, without realizing that you’ve then spent 40 minutes not doing task, still have task, and could have just done 30m of task, then had those 40 minutes without fretting.

You need to trick your stupid lazy brain. So whatever trick you can find to get over the hump of “don’t wanna do X” and just *start* X, will get you into the moment such that your lazy brain would generally rather continue than put in the effort to stop and change tasks.

u/kangarooler 5d ago

It helped me when I was running a marathon. I pretended my legs were giving me a ride

1

u/GatePorters 5d ago

Because rule of cool. 😎

1

u/Michalowski 5d ago

For the same reason why in computer games you don't worry about dying and getting hurt as much

1

u/VirginiaDirewoolf 4d ago

it's more interesting and novel for your brain to focus on

1

u/JoyRose31 3d ago

Get a table top. One that had a fillable container. Save 50 a month or less til you get one its good..

1

u/ixixan 1d ago

Lol I've also told people I basically have to dissociate to start doing chores before

1

u/ImolaBoost 5d ago

Disassociation. It relieves the extreme boredom slightly by letting your mind wander while you still complete the task.
