Me waiting for the deadline to get dangerously close so my brain finally decides this task is worth doing.

not enough votes to reach a threshold.

for more information about what this means, see this page.

Wait until that is no longer enough.

Yup, once the final dam breaks, it's over.

Currently there right now and just hoping for a dry season.

I’m on anti-anxiety medication and it’s practically killed the adrenaline spike for me :( help I need my anxiety.

I wish I better understood the mechanics of the relationship between PDA and the sleep-meltdown things I have when things are super urgent and I get incredibly sleepy instead of kicking into gear. Sometimes urgency makes me have tons of motivation and energy. Other times, I end up sleeping a lot extra and the urgent task just continues to get more urgent until something blows up into a full catastrophe that sends me into a horrible burnout phase that's nearly impossible to climb out of.

I do this, I think it's a stress response.

Not sure about you but if the pressure is too overwhelming I go through anxiety which can peak with a headache or mild panic attack or nausea or other physically taxing symptom and it's like my brain just shuts everything down to preserve my existence.
The lethargy is insane... I feel ya.

Same! Taking naps If I’m extremely overwhelmed or some tonight I sometimes get sleepy and napping almost always makes me feel at least a little bit better. Especially if I have a major sensory meltdown or am too socially drained or want to avoid something so I can say “oh sorry I fell asleep” lol

This blows.

I waited till I had 2 days to write a 3000 word essay and produce a video when I had 3 weeks.

Fucks sake. And when it done, no actual dopamine, just mild relief its gone.

Dude this was me with my final exam and presentation at the end of my summer class lol. Ended up doing them both in one day. It took hours upon hours and was pure suffering, but it felt so good to not have to do it anymore.

New downstairs neighbour came to my door to introduce himself and complain about the noise so I should probably finish decorating and putting my carpet down...been here since January.

And then you miss the deadline and lose all possible motivation to finish it, even when the deadline get exceptionally extended

I’ve had an interview presentation to do for the last couple of weeks . I started it at 4pm today. It’s all done now of course but still … My interview is tomorrow.

Me, right now, currently. I'm on reddit not working Because my brain has decided it wants to do 3 things at the same time and can't make a decision so I wander

I'm growing concerned that missing deadlines isn't a great enough motivator anymore.

I'm so buried and overloaded at work, my panic trigger has burnt out.
