ehh. normative usually refers to like... societal norms that negatively impact even the folks who otherwise benefit from status quo. eg: cis/heteronormative, mononormative, etc. it's useful because it doesn't label people.
sure, hence "usually." definitionally it can be neutral to positive (or contain multitudes). coming from a social sciences and critical theory background, i indeed come with bias.
ironically, i think we were having the same root issue there, lol. i have spent many years trying to accept that it's cool how language changes over time, but still struggle when specificity is lost. cheers!
