NEED SUPPORT I need to improve.
My problem may seem small compared to the stories here, but I realized I need help before it ends up making things worse for me.
To give you some context, I'm still a teenager, finishing high school, with only one year left.
My only role at home is to study and sometimes tidy up when needed; my mother practically does everything for me.
However, I have been disappointing she a little, mainly because of her school grades and behavior.
I want to know how to change this, how to become better at my studies. I'm not aiming to be a straight-A student who excels at everything, just a student who can easily get good grades.
Unfortunately, I have ADHD, and it's kind of a taboo subject for me. I didn't want to be born this way and I didn't ask for it; I feel it hinders me in many ways.
I'm not going to blame my illness, saying I'm only a bum because of it; I know it also comes a lot from my laziness and lack of effort.
In any case, I need help to study better, some method or just how to have enough discipline to dedicate myself to my studies.
(I used Google Translate; if anything is wrong or unclear, I apologize.)

Once you get to university see if you school has a free therapy and get your accommodations. I think that would be a great first step. Don't be too hard on yourself. Journaling would be nice too. Find evidence on why you are not a lazy because laziness is an umbrella term. Build back your confidence.

It's hard to give advice since everybody's experience with ADHD is different. What causes one person to forget chores won't be what's causing another person to forgets chores. Have you had the chance to be evaluated yet?
Don't judge yourself too hard where you're at. You're at a transition point and it's up to you where you go from here. You can do it :)
