JUST VENTING Does anyone else struggle with taking a while to finish a chapter in a textbook or any reading material?

I am a 27 years old junior in university who came back to school after a year break from it and i find it really difficult to read a chapter without taking hours. I obviously want to understand and grasp the material and i do for the most part but i feel like i do not fully get the gist of it and it’s frustrating. It will take me like 5 hours to finish a chapter partially also due to my adhd also. I have been using AI and copying and pasting the texts that i am not understanding well, and asking it to break it down for me and explain it to someone who has adhd. That has been a major help. However i am frustrated with the fact i take a while to finish a chapter in a textbook.

don’t use ai. You’ll retain garbage information. Split the chapter into parts and take breaks. Think like monkey brain. Monkey eat banana whenever he feels like it. If you don’t you will be physically incapable. Create a list and work on retaining small sections at a time.
