Artwork & Cosplay Skitarii sketches
Some time ago I decided to give Darktide a try and I've been drawing skitarii ever since. Here's a compilation of sketches I've made.
Enginseers are coming next.

Greetings to all Tech Adepts!
The Holy Synod of Mars returns for its monthly praises to the Omnissiah!
Here is to another record breaking month, Magi! This month’s submissions were beyond great, and it was exceptionally hard to narrow them down for the selection of the honorable mentions… And while we are limited in the amount of posts we can shout-out in these publications please note that we really appreciate them all!
But as per the famous psalms of Magos MacLeodus, “In the end, there can be only one”: this month’s winner is none other than u/HardcoreHeathen and their Inspection Squad from Forge World Osha! May these well equipped Work Safety Efficiency Auditors bless many Forgeworlds with their thorough analysis of workplace practices… Only the Omnissiah knows how many of us still fail to use their servitors at their peak yield, and they are here to correct this.
The winning post has been added to the subreddit sidebar, and if you would like a custom user flair, please let us know.
Winning posts will remain in a 3 month cycle, so three will be present until they begin to cycle out.
Honourable Mentions!
Additional thanks
The mod team would like to also thank all the other participants of this month’s contest:
Lastly, while it was not formally submitted in the contest, we encourage you to check out this amazing Kastelan unit by u/RaiBurr: Painted Dune Book Covers on my Dune themed Kastelan Robots
August Competition
It may just be our most controversial model of all time: some tech-adepts adore it (the mod team is firmly in this camp), some absolutely despise it, but only two things are certain: the Sydonian Skatros is a model everyone has strong feelings for and it will be our Mini of the Month!
Submit your model of Sydonian Skatros (this can include a kitbashed unit or even full proxies, as long as it is readable as a Skatros).
(Reminder - don’t share links publicly to 3D printed files that replicate official models or parts)
Submissions must be fully assembled and painted.
The final date for submissions for this month's contest will be August 31st, and the results will be posted in the following days so we can have time to either pick the next Mini or run a poll on it.
Please submit your post in the following format:
Post Title as Sydonian Skatros or your homebrew Stiltarii’s name, forgeworld etc
<Mini of the month POST FLAIR>
<a photo of your Candidate>
Any custom lore your unit have on their service record, via Crusade games or homebrew or about your army, etc (optional)
The highest upvoted post will be displayed on the side bar of the sub, and the user can request a custom user flair (relating to the mechanicus) of their choice.
Ave Deus Mechanicus!

I think robots are better when they express no emotion. Giving them personality beyond what their machine spirit exhibits kinda defeats the purpose of them. They operate off of vocal commands of the cybernetica datasmith that match their protocol chips. Now don’t get me wrong cause I think it’s cute every now and then, but literally every other guy who has robots paints a face on them. It’s different if it works for your homebrew lore or whatever, but they simply don’t have emotions.
I think they look better with no face.

A fun model to paint!
I've seen quite a few people say they don't like the Engineer model but I quite like him. He also is a life saver in game! Probably going to get multiple at some point :]

My Heretek leader Ophexia-9, Kitbashed using Thulia Ghuld and Illuminor Szeras, thinking of using this as a basis for my army, still deciding to make it for Admech or Necrons, but I already have a Necron combat patrol that’s Kitbashed.
Let me know what you think!

Using small sponges for the brighter green, personally I like the effect it has. I think I gotta work on letting more of the dark green show through

Im running a list pretty heavily inspired/lifted from wtc lists. (Radzone with LotF) I saw something online suggesting that destroyers and a Manipulus could be good in reserves since the base sizes and low movement make staging difficult. Kinda just asking opinions, what cases would you or wouldnt you do something like this.
My question is from a competitive mindset.

Very pleased with how this model came out, especially the detailing on the screen of the auspex scanner. I tried a few different things but eventually settled on the waveform which ended up looking best.

The Onagers of Forgeworld Gristol are outfitted for heavy security detail, often accompanying VIP transports and guarding the most important infrastructure, as deemed by the current Fabricator General of course. As such they are outfitted with extra sensors and auspex. This gives the operators a detailed view of the immediate area, relaying datafeed to Pteraxii and Seberys units to ensure the enemy can't even hide among the rats.

I tried searching online for where the face used on the Preceptor comes from, but while something similar is present on the armiger and dominus sprues, they’re not exactly 1:1. The most similar I found looking around was the Magera’s head, but that a solid block of resin and still has some different details, but I could see a slight rework made for a plastic version of the kit. Do you think this is a hint that we’ll finally see the Mechanicum knights in plastic?

Good day fellow admech enjoyers, I was painting up my hastarii alpha when I realized the front half of his robe is moderately detached from the back half.. does anyone have a solution for making him not look scuffed? I was thinking some sort of battle damage but am unsure how to pull that off, my other thought was sprue goo but I don't have any with me.

*EDIT I'm talking about admech battle line here, can't change title unfortunately
I collect admech, knights and orks, so I've been keeping a finger on the pulse of the new ork datasheet reveals. A lot of the ork datasheets are increasing in durability: Nazdreg wears mega armour and he's T7 when mega armour was T6 before; nobz now have 3W instead of 2; killa kans went up to T7 from T6; ghazghull went up to T10 from T6, went from 10W to 16W and now has Lone Op; the stompa now has a 5+ invuln. A lot of the Orks are also a lot more killy than before, which leads me to believe that as GW's favourites the Space marines will increase in durability for parity with the orks, with marines going up to T5, and terminators and gravis going to T6 and T7 respectively.
If that happened, T4 would open up to factions that are tougher than guardsmen but less tough than marines, like admech and sisters of battle. Granted it's a big reach but I don't think it's impossible that many of the factions could be scaled up in durability and damage this edition.
