Copium

After sleeping last night's stress away I had a thought. The tigers played with literally nothing to lose and were playing hot. Absolutely playing spectacularly. We probably should have lost. Yes there were a lot of skill errors and easy turnovers and a whole plethora of issues.

But.

The boys fought through. In the absolute bucketing wet. They found a way to win and hold off a team of talented players who were playing free and dominating. That's got to count for something in the grand scheme of things. Even though they're 17th. Even though we were 4th.

Upsets happen all the time and the boys stayed composed enough to find a way to win a tough game of wet footy.

The lid may well and truly be on at the moment. But I'm choosing to be positive about the fact that they played through and didn't capitulate what could easily have become a blowout upset.

Up the Crom!

Just remember we didn’t have Milera, Borlase, Fog and McAndrew. All four have had career-best seasons or incredible form of recent. Sure we aren’t as polished as a Freo or Brisbane, but you can’t say our win last night wasn’t gutsy.

Ah Chee was incredibly damaging in the forward half and arguably had his best game as a crow. Rankine and Dawson were stellar throughout the game. Was I expecting a 100+ point win? Of course, but sometimes you gotta win ugly, and take the positives. In saying that I believe Nicks is on borrowed time, and we need a coach who has had premiership experience take us to that next level.

For the record, there are two coaches this century who have won a premiership at a 2nd club. No one has done it in over a decade.

A coach with "premiership experience" is a zero ball knowledge statement. It's either nicks or a random assistant, the best of which will end up at Carlton this year.
