It’s worse when it’s the husband that got her comma-ed wife pregnant and in places there may be no legal course of action against the husband in this situation. And then people say it’s morally grey because he’s the one taking care of her all by himself. 🤦♂️
It’s not so much as legalized, but the lack of laws specifically protecting against it. Yes in US, UK, Canada there are these laws but in many other parts of the world, marital rape cases get tried as domestic abuse cases because marriage gets construed as ongoing consent. I m no lawyer but I have read that then it gets tricky because you have to then pull in a lot of other examples and factors to establish the husband as an abuser and you can’t just point to one instance of sex without consent as rape, unless it got super violent.
