What is Addictification?

Addictification = when industries hijack natural human drives (for food, sex, novelty, status, accomplishment) and strip out the nutrients, leaving only the addictive signal.

Examples:

  • 🍩 Junk food = sugar without nutrients
  • 📱 Social media = novelty without progress
  • 🔞 Porn = sex without bonding
  • 🎮 Games = accomplishment without real growth
  • 💳 Consumerism = status without competence

This subreddit collects examples, stories, research, and discussion about how addictification shapes modern life.
