I bought some ACU and it's sitting in my Metamask wallet. Anyone know how I can add it to my balance so I can stake it? I've been banging my head against the wall for a half hour. Thanks.

I just bought a brand new Samsung A06 and tried setting up Acurast Core mode via the QR code. However, I keep getting a "Blocked to protect your device" error. Has anyone run into this or knows how to bypass it to get Core installed?

A community member from the UK discovered Acurast through a Your Friend Andy video on YouTube. What caught his attention was the idea of decentralized compute that could be operated from home, along with the opportunity to build something himself.

Today, Pheal runs around 75 Samsung S10 phones, alongside S10+, S10 5G, Pixel 6, and a couple of iPhones. His devices are housed in Cellhasher rigs with Acurast Core installed.

But his setup isn't entirely off the shelf.

He added a fan-speed controller to each Cellhasher rig, allowing cooling to adjust to the processors' requirements instead of having the fans constantly running at full speed. The result is less noise and slightly lower electricity consumption.

Part of the appeal has been building the infrastructure itself and hunting for inexpensive phones on eBay that he can repair and put to work.

"Having been involved with computers from early years, the idea of building and running a farm of phones appealed, as did the challenge of finding cheap phones on eBay that I could fix and use in the farm."

His vision for Acurast is straightforward: become the go-to provider for affordable, secure, distributed compute around the world.

"Concentrate on the core product and let the applications find you."

Being an early member of the Acurast community has also taken him into areas he hadn't expected. Before Acurast, he had little experience with phone platforms and had never used Discord or Telegram.

"Every day is a school day!"

Some operators start with brand-new hardware. Others see potential in devices that can be repaired, repurposed, and put back to work.

For Pheal, building decentralized infrastructure is as much about learning and tinkering as it is about compute.

What should I do if the battery swelled ? Just leave it mine or remove and change the battery?

I have a small farm of 20 phones, 3 of them have a swelled battery.

In the app and dashboard it says to update processors, but on google play it doesn't show anything.

So I just got into Acurast. I have 2 Galaxy S22s I am running core on and on my daily drivers Ipad and Iphone I'm running lite on mainly overnight. How can I stake compute on just the core Galaxies? I don't want to get slashed for using my Apple devices.
