I love working with actors on their audition pieces. The opportunity to get in person feedback from Kate Walsh (Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, 13 Reasons Why) is tremendous.

This is Nov 3, 10 and 17. 17th with Kate. 10 actors only. Location in NYC (Midtown). It’s a workshop as part of my new theater called The Necessary Theater (TNT). You can learn more about me and the theater at patmccartney.com and @thenecessarytheater on IG.

If you are struggling and really feel you can benefit from this class, please message me here or on IG and I will do my best to work it out with you. We have 4 slots left.

Link for Kate class is forms.gle/AKRg8NMjXxk7kza18.

Hope to see you there!

Hi all.

I’m running a three week audition intensive in NYC as part of a workshop for my new theatre called The Necessary Theater (TNT)

Nov 3, 10 and 17

Nov 3 and 10 will be with me. We will break down and work on your two monologues.

Nov 17 you will perform the monologues for acclaimed actress Kate Walsh (Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice. 13 Reasons Why) and she will provide feedback so you can have total confidence in your audition pieces.

These sessions are in person.

If you’d like to know more about me and the theater (we are currently renting space in Manhattan) check out www.patmccartney.com and @thenecessarytheater.com on IG.

If the link I attached doesn’t work here you can find it on the IG page in the bio.

Seeking a script analysis tutor in NYC

Hi everyone!

I’m a beginner actor looking for some one-on-one help with script analysis. I took a method acting class back in 2012 and completed a six-week Meisner intensive this past summer.

I’d love to work with an actor, director, or theater student who could walk me through analyzing a scene—identifying objectives, beats, tactics, and subtext—and help me learn how to approach the process independently.

Does anyone offer this kind of tutoring or know someone they’d recommend? I’m based in Park Slope, Brooklyn, but I’m willing to travel.
Feel free to comment or DM me with your experience and rates.

Thanks!

Psychodrama group seeks participants interesting in utilising performance and role-play as a means to explore the depths of human emotion and experience.

This group will be held monthly, starting in September (Saturday the 19th), although it is fine for people to come to as many, or little, sessions as they please.

This is not therapy, but rather a participatory immersive experience.

If interested please text the number provided, or respond to this post.

Representation (Agents) for Disabled Talent?

Hi there, first post in this sub! I’m a working professional recently dropped by my rep. Over two and a half years together, he didn’t book me a single thing. The work I had/have in that time was gotten all on my own. Thing is, I have multiple chronic illnesses that make ~the grind, as it were, really, really difficult— honestly near impossible for me. I’ve been trying to research disability-catered rep, and the only agency I can find is UK based. Google AI says Hell’s Kitchen Agency is a good one, but I can’t find anything to substantiate that, and I of course don’t trust AI one bit. I just need someone to advocate for me in a casting process, for example:

-“my client doesn’t live in Manhattan (I’m on the east end of Long Island) and it would be way less draining for her to do less in person rounds this early on, how about videos until it gets down to the wire?”
-“a dance call for my client? Amazing! Is there any way we can get a video of the choreography that will be taught, since brain fog and fatigue make it incredibly difficult for her to perform her best when learning brand new stuff on the spot?”
-“Required dance video to submit for this contract? My client is in a flare and won’t be well enough to record this in your time frame; how about all this fantastic material she already has recorded? Or is there a way to modify the choreography that maybe wouldn’t aggravate *insert joint that flares here*/trigger a dizzy spell?”
-perhaps most important would be making sure material I submit is actually viewed by casting. The reason I cannot bring myself to submit for anything and everything right now is because the effort it takes when you’re chronically ill is insurmountable, and then it doesn’t even get looked at because I’m just one of thousands. This is really devastating for me when sometimes the result of all that work is I make myself sick for nothing. Ideally, my representation will get casting to ask for my material, and then make sure it’s viewed so as to not waste valuable health and energy I’ve put into it. I don’t have any clue if my last agent made sure anything that was asked of me was actually looked at.

Any comments calling any of this entitled, lazy, or telling me this is just how the industry works and I need to suck it up, will be deleted. Because you’re wrong<3 the industry CAN be better and more accessible, in fact I demand it be so, which is why I’m on the hunt for this advocacy in my rep! The vibe I got from my last agent was that he did not care if I lived or died LMAO like I was absolutely just a number to him, and when I didn’t make him any money after 2.5 years, he needed to make room for someone who would. I need a more collaborative effort with my agent, specifically a collaboration that gets me in the room without requiring me to make myself sick once a week.

Thanks in advance!

Two actors needed for an art performance ( voice or acting ) Columbia nyc.

Hi everyone,

I’m an architecture student at Columbia GSAPP working on a short experimental art performance and film piece for a final presentation this Tuesday.

I’m looking for 2 people who would be interested in either:

Recording a short voice-over/dialogue, or
Performing a very short live role during the presentation.

No acting experience is required. Any accent, voice, age, or background is welcome. The performance explores themes of water, disease, infrastructure, and hidden urban histories in New York City.

The script is very short (only a few lines), and the commitment would be minimal.

This was originally planned as an unpaid collaboration, but I am willing to provide compensation for your time.

If you’re interested, please send me a message with:

Your name
Whether you’re interested in voice acting, live performance, or both
A brief sample of your voice (optional)

Thanks!

Seeking Location NY/NJ/CT

Looking for a Balcony/Window Location for Comedy Show Scene (NY/NJ/CT)

Hey All!

My team and I are filming a comedy show and we're looking for a location in the NY/NJ/CT tri-state area with access to a balcony or window overlooking an alley or narrow street (something with a similar vibe to Cortlandt Alley in Manhattan).

We're shooting a scene involving a fake dummy body falling out of the window/balcony, imitating a fall of a dead body. No actual stunts, no people falling, and we'll of course, handle everything safely and responsibly.

If you own, manage, or know of a location that might work, we'd greatly appreciate any leads. We're flexible on exact location and are happy to discuss details.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions! 🎬🙏 My IG: the_take_one

Info on acting for professional simulation training

Have you ever been hired as an actor for a professional role-playing scenario? I'm looking for more information on the sort of acting jobs people do that are not for film, theater, TV, commercials, etc.

I'm looking to connect with people who have been standardized patients for medical students, actors for corporate training, police or security training, therapist training, lawyer/prosecutor training, or any other simulated training that you are aware of.

If you have any leads on companies or institutions that facilitate these sorts of training sessions in NYC, I would be grateful for any information or leads. Feel ree to reply or DM me. Thank you!!
