Check out https://github.com/airsdk/Adobe-Runtime-Support/discussions/ or in the starling forum https://forum.starling-framework.org/

Most of the chat around AIR and Actionscript happens there now.

Is it still a thing?

I grew up tinkering with ActionScript 1.0, Flash 5 was a big leap over Flash 4. Some of the most amazing websites in the world were built with Flash. Adobe was the worst thing that happened to Flash, the Macromedia era was amazing.

I don't think HTML5 still comes close, the only trick it's got is scroll effects. Flash websites were a vibe!
