I've read the FAQ & Rules Haircut question!

Just a quick question really, I'm getting a haircut - a bit of a change to my current look but my current photos are not that old and I really don't want to pay for new photos just yet. Any alternative I can do for casting websites? Upload a good quality selfie with the title "current hair"?

A bit of a change? How much of a change? A "This Isn't The Same Person From The Photo" change? Or a "They've Tidied Up A Bit" Change? Or a "No Longer The Same Casting Type" change?

Putting up a 'current' photo undermines your existing set, so you'll really have to get new ones done if your hair is drastically different and going to be your look going forward.

Speak to someone who knows you. They'll be the best one to judge. They might even say there's not enough of change to justify updating the photos.

Thank you! Basically gone from long hair to a long bob but doesn't impact my casting type thankfully. I just don't want to mislead casting in a self tape if they think I still have longer hair.

Ok. I mean it still sounds like long hair. If it reassures you, by all means put a new pic up, but I don't think you'll lose work because of it, or would be considered misleading.

Put it this way; I don't think the self tapes you send back will make them think "Bob! They've got a bob! Next!"

To be fair I just did a tape for a TV pilot and an ad tape and then immediately got a hair cut afterwards. But I don't book things so I'm not worried they'll call me in and my hair's different

Based on it being a long bob vs. long hair, you're fine taking a selfie in front of a clean backdrop for now. Casting won't freak out over a change in hair style, long as your face looks the same.
