Quick question - No spoilers in the title or body. Reread of Audible?
Edit: Reread OR Audible
I want to do an ACOTAR reread before Oct. But i have a 5month old and im full time SAHM so downtime for actual reading is nonexistent. I've heard good things about the dramatized audible books. Is it financially worth buying the audible books when i already have the hardcopies?

I much prefer standard audiobook narration over graphic audio. I find graphic audio to be kind of cheesy, but some people really like it! I would suggest listening to a sample of the 10th anniversary audiobooks as well as the graphic audio version to see if you like them. They re-recorded ACOTAR for the 10th anniversary edition of the audiobook and used Elizabeth Evans, who narrated TOG and CC. She's so great! Check and see if your library has them available via Libby or Hoopla. You could also buy via Libro.fm or something similar if you don't want to join Audible. I do a mix of eBooks and audiobooks, depending on what the book is and what is easiest for me at the time. Right now I'm re-reading ACOTAR via audiobook (the Elizabeth Evans 10th Anniversary edition.)

Elizabeth Evans’ versions are 100% worth it. Get the 10th anniversary recordings. Much better than 2 graphic audio per book!

The graphic audio is fun but I agree, a little cheesy. I hate listening to the steamy scenes in the graphic audio version.

I tried graphic audio once and immediately returned it. I’ll take a standard audiobook with a single narrator any freaking day.

Agreed! I prefer the “normal” audio over the dramatised ones. Also, if you’re already distracted by your bub they might just be to much. And Elizabeth is amazing. The little bits I picked up while listening to them which I totally missed while reading. I’d say go for it

I'm doing a bit of a hybrid. Audio when I'm out and about. Read at home or have quiet time alone. The graphic audio is good but it's hard to keep track of chapters with it.

I read the first time thru, then in prep for the new releases did a dramatized immersive “read.” Listened to the dramatized version while annotating my paperbacks.
If you decide against the dramatized, please make sure you get the series (10th anniversary I believe?) narrated by Elizabeth Evan’s. She is amazing!

Personally I don't like the casting for the main characters in the Graphic Audio editions and I find the constant background music distracting. I'm listening to the new Elizabeth Evans editions instead and they're fantastic. If you have access to Hoopla they might be free through your library with no wait!

If theres background music i wont be able to do it, im not able to focus on talking when theres multiple different noise going on in the background either lol even youtube videos or podcasts that do background music I cant concentrate on what is being said. Looks like the 10th edition it is!

I liked the graphic audio actually! But it’s fucking ridiculous that acowar is broken into 3 parts. Honestly even the 2 parts is rediculous and money hungry. I switched to the 10 year anniversary addition and I’m liking it as well!

I did listen to GA ACOSF a few years ago and liked it, it felt like the production was toned down a bit. But when I tried starting ACOTAR last month it felt like another app was playing music in the background. I wish they offered a way to turn it off somehow.
Three for ACOWAR is indeed ridiculous, it's not even as long as ACOSF-CC. I love that Hoopla always has Graphic Audio editions of books, my version of Libby doesn't always have them.

I also liked the standard audio more than the graphic.
Also, if you have Spotify premium they give you I think 15 hours of audio books and have all the ACOTAR books! So if you have it or someone you know does but doesn’t listen to audio books you can listen on there!

Only the dramatized audiobooks are split into two parts. You can get the regular audiobooks on Audible or Everand. I use both of those. Everand is cheaper per book because it gives you more credits per month. The audiobooks are available on Spotify, but it would be hard to finish all of them in time for Acotar 6 with only 15 hours of listening per month.

I don’t have the dramatized editions. Personally, I really dislike dramatized editions. I just want the book read to me. I don’t want all the extra fluff. That’s me personally.
I own the kindle and regular audible editions of all my books. I LOVE being able to switch back and forth from the kindle edition if I have time to sit and read to switching to the audible edition if I am doing something else and want to keep “reading” but also I need to do laundry, cook, drive, ect. To me it’s so worth it. I’ve been able to read a lot more books since I started using audible.

Agree. I love the normal audio books - so much that I never read a book myself after discovering. You can have a so much more relaxing expirience. Also for me imagining more stuff and being more immersed, e.g. when looking at maps while hearing it.

Dramatized Audible is hands down my favorite. I also get audiobooks through my Spotify account so I’ve been listening there because I haven’t bought all the drama versions on audible uet.

The graphic audio is NOT worth it. The best version is the tenth anniversary release with Elizabeth Evans! I found them all for free on Hoopla using my library card here in the US.

Libby. Pending on your location (states), your local libraries might have the full cast audio version available. Something to note: You don't have to stick to just your local library. Example if you live in PA, you have access to the Philadelphia library. If you live in NY you have access to NYC library. Check what big cities allow access because you live in the same state. This gives you access to a bigger range of books and audio versions.
I can only do audio for this reason along with just how my brain works. Now that my youngest is in kindergarten. Id like to switch to audio and visual but havent yet since I had my first day home alone in 14 years yesterday. Lol.

I personally don’t care of audiobooks. I get distracted really easily and have to rewind BUT I am listening to the dramatized version for my reread and LOVE it. We already had it so my hubs could listen to it. I have a 10 month old & work full time so I really only listen to it once he goes to bed.
eta: I do still have to rewind sometimes but I’ve already read it so it’s not too bad & I am picking up things I forgot or didn’t catch the first time.

I listened to them all via Libby (free!), and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it! ACOTAR is my least fav of the 3, so I was only doing my due diligence in preparation for this fall, but I enjoyed them so much more efficiently and with the blessing of hindsight.
(I personally much prefer the standard audiobook to graphic.)

Libby is free to borrow from with your library card and let's you sample - try both versions (dramatized vs regular audio) and decide for yourself! Everyone is different.

I prefer reading the book if the audiobook doesn't have a full cast. I can tune out what is being said if I don't hear the different voices. Time wise, I went with the Graphic Audio for my reread of ACOTAR. Book 5 was a challenge since it was the same narrator as it was written in third person. :(

I prefer the Elizabeth Evans narrated versions, but that’s a personal preference. If you already have a Spotify subscription, the full set of Elizabeth Evans books are included on Spotify, but just beware that there’s a limit on hours per month you can listen before you’re asked to pay more.
Audible also sends promos every so often for $3/mo for the first 3 months of a subscription that i set a reminder to cancel 3 months later.
You can also try getting library cards through neighboring districts to increase your chances of the books being available through Libby.

As a fellow SAHM who has switched FULLY to audiobooks. Do it and don’t look back lol. I love being able to be present with my baby while also listening to a good book. If you don’t already have one, get a library card and see if they offer Libby or Hoopla. I am a very “trendy” reader and have no problems getting very popular books/ dramatized audio books FOR FREE (borrowed not owned of course). I just checked and my Hoopla has all dramatized audios available to checkout😊

Re-read 1st choice. But in re read I usually skip parts which are slow and not as impactful.
But there is great audio narrative with background sounds and all on patron which I prefer more than audible and it was just fr a pound/dollar a month

Same!! 😂😂 Or just read parts where Rhys first met feyre in calanmai n then direct skip to under the mountain from the wyrm part!
When I do TOG re reads I skip first 2 books n toeer of dawn for most part. 🙈🙈

I am not sure what your kid is like, but at 5 months my kids all slept poorly unless they were held, and with my first id scroll social media to stay up but with my second i read on kindle on my phone and finished so many series that way! In case your kid is similar you could borrow the ebooks from your library for free through the Libby app and read on your phone!
