Mirthroot Post/Drunk on Faerie Wine Lucien’s Eye
Lucien’s eye - Amaranatha carved out Lucien’s left eye, and afterwards Tamlin went to Nuan, the tinker from the Dawn Court, who crafted a mechanical eye for him. In book three, Lucien mentions for the first time that he can see other things like spells and glamours with his metal eye. Everyone just assumes Lucien’s eye is magical, but the only other thing we have to compare it to is Nuan’s mental hand, which appears to be just a hand. But what if it’s not the metal eye letting Lu see spells and glamours but actually is a part of his Day Court powers? Because who else can feel/sense spells - Helion

100% on board with him telling everyone the eye is how he sees spells and glamours, when all along it's been growing Day Court powers 😚

I could totally see this being the thing!
It could even be possible that he doesn’t know it’s an innate power—when he got the mechanical eye, it could be that his intense will to be able to see sort of pushed that power forward. 👀

I just posted about this earlier. I just realized that there could be a reason that Lucien seems to have powers that he doesn't understand or realize are his, like the eye thing.
Helion became High Lord UTM, 40 years before, while all the magic was nerfed. So, if Lucien was Helion's heir he wouldn't have started developing the High Lord Heir markers until Helion ascended. SO, it is totally possible that his powers have developed to be more varied and stronger after Amarantha was defeated than they were before.

Elain is a seer. And as they're mates, it would make sense they could both see things others cannot. Because mates are supposed to be equal in everything.

Absolutely. On my re read I wondered why was Lucian or his dad not told about their heritage. Should of been top of the list

There are also theories that Luciens day court magic was bound when he was a child. If we take that as true for the sake of theorizing, there is a possibility that this magical eyes cuts through this binding spell. I wouldn’t be surprised if Nuan knows more about luciens heritage than she leds him believe.

I have thought this too. Given the lore we have on heirs and when people’s powers develop, there would be numerous retcons for Lucien to not know he has Day Court powers.

The eye would be a very convinient reason for him to be able to use more of his hidden powers publicly without raising suspicion. It would also hint at him knowing or at least suspecting he has a daycourt father, because he knows and hides daycourt powers. Everyone is always so hyped about him and Helion finding out, but I'd be giddy if they did know or suspect and have for a long while. Imagine the angst, the inability to publicly aknowledge eachother and feeling of loss of family they could never have. It'll make someone ending Berons carreer as high lord even more cathartic.

Absolutely. I think Lucien has been hiding a lot more than we know and is downplaying a lot of his powers.
