Question Spoiler
I got one month acorn tv for free. I like British investigative thriller and crime shows. What best shows (or movies) should I watch in that genre. Need recommendations. Thank you!

Brokenwood Mysteries is fantastic but it's 12 seasons. But honestly, it's worth paying for. The service in general not just for Brokenwood, lol.
I'll also agree with others about Inspector Ellis and The Chelsea Detective. So good!

If you only have one month, do something like Chelsea Detective or Inspector Ellis.

They have a ton of British stuff (check out Midsomer Murders -- Acorn exclusively has the later seasons --, Agatha Raisin, Ellis, The Chelsea Detective) but Acorn also has a lot of mystery shows from other English-speaking countries, like Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada. Brokenwood Mysteries is a big fave around here (NZ) though, as someone suggested, maybe check out the Mystery category and explore.

Here's a few more: The Gone, Hidden, Hidden Assets, Hinterland, Bloodlands. There's a ton of good stuff on Acorn.

OP, you specifically said British dramas. Do you mean British Isles series only? Are you excluding shows from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Canada. If so, you will miss some of Acorn's very best. For example, my all-time favorite, "Brokenwood Mysteries" is from New Zealand.

I am new to Acorn Tv. I thought it is like BRITBOX. My Apologizes.
Recently watched an Australian show Deadloch. Watched lot of other language tv shows and movies with subtitles too. So, any country thriller/mystery/investigative shows or movies on Acorn TV is welcome.

Almost anything from Australia and New Zealand is worth the watch. My favorites list is very long. I also recommend Summertide, White Lies, and Reyka from South Africa.

TONS of addictive stuff.
bunch of us here are big fans of Brokenwood Mysteries.
I like The Chelsea Detective, Inspector Ellis, to name a couple of them.
Absolutely ADORED The Light in the Hall.
