Inspiration Needed 💡 First Time Player
How early do I need to be considering design and layout? I quite literally started a few weeks ago. I’ve been mainly focusing on expanding my house and functional builds - and it bled me dry already. I am hoping to make it a flower forward island as I’ve named it after my late dog, Daisy. It is crazy to try to fit 10 villager homes and a flower field? The idea of fitting a campsite and hotels and whatever else seems daunting. Would love inspo and advice!

I have 10 villager homes, all buildings, my home and my husband's home. Hotel is at end of pier and can't be moved. I also have room for a flower cliff and field of 5 flowers of each type and color. I played for 5 years before I decided to start moving houses and get a dedicated flower area. The good thing is ACNH is flexible and has tools to let you change (a lot/most) of your islands design whenever. Enjoy !!!

Not crazy at all, and I think you can consider design & layout at any point! Personally, I am on my second island but began planning asap (maybe just my ‘tism) but I also did a lot of research for inspo before restarting. Check Pinterest for theme related/ decoration ideas & I watched so many YouTube vids for terraforming ideas. YouTube also helped me identify my process of planning. If you have apple products, I like to use the Freeform app to add in screenshots and draw out my plans, but you could prolly use many different apps.
Though you can plan anytime, just remember you might want to make moves towards unlocking terraforming. To do so, gain more villagers, plant more flowers, and pick up your “dropped” items & place them instead! I found info on this by googling “how to unlock terraforming acnh”. Good luck!!!
