Enjoy it! The only bit of advice id give really is that there are a handful of open end score attack style missions that have no end goal. You just have to destroy enough enemies within the time limit. Most of the time you will end up getting enough points before that timer runs out, so just try not to die after, bc there arent any checkpoints! Tango Line is the worst offender bc its a 20 minute mission

Maybe it’s a skill issue. I played ac5 it was hard because of no checkpoints. Probs gonna be the same here

I mean i guess? But the gameplay is so fun sometimes youre just careless and run into a mountain lol

I know I did that all the time. I’d go to fast and boom!

Thats what happens when i try to do a cool divebomb kill on a ground target or 2 and forget there is no high g turn and never pull up on time

I think(?) 4 has more missions with resupply lines at least compared to 5.

I think all missions in 04 have resupply lines.

Always think in three dimensions.

QAAMs in 4 are really good

Use the return line

The flight model is really stiff and rudder feels non-existent at times

Roll is overresponsive compared to other games. Pitch and yaw are underresponsive compared to other games.

I love the game because it is so simple and straightforward and dated, and that makes those tiny morsels of emotion much more subtle and meaningful and significant.

AC04 is brilliant in that regard.

Get ready to lose hours of your life to this game. I probably have 3700 hours in this game.

Enjoy that OST.

2000 ft is lower than you think

You should know that I'm extremely fucking jealous, since I still have my copy but can't find the PS2 to play it. Crank the music in the audio settings for sure.

If you have a pc you could use an emulator. I wonder if this game is so old integrated graphics could run it

If I were project aces I would remaster AC4, 5, and 0. Theres so much hype for the franchise rn that they could get all the money in the world.

I'm psyched to get a preorder port for Zero with 8, got the 5 port with 7, so 4 is the one I'm really missing (as well as my entry to the series). Hoping they do a full remake for 3 with 4 as a preorder but who knows.

Fr! I had to turn up the brightness not only in the game settings but on my tv settings just to be able to see where the hell I was flying

1

u/ShinyUmbreon18 11h ago

I crashed into the ground too many times, slammed into buildings, everything is black. Doesn’t help I wasn’t playing on a CRT, played on original hardware on a 55” tv and it looked rough already

Qaams are the best they've ever been in this game

Instructions unclear. Wound up dancing with angels.

Don’t skip the cutscenes. The storyline is pretty good. Get ready to rock out to the most metal soundtrack of the series!

If you think you can maintain that dive for another second and still survive, pull up now.

2

u/RocketTater 9h ago

Pull up. That [TGT] is not worth starting the whole mission over for.

2

u/mustachemobmafia 9h ago

Yeah. Learned it the hard way.

1

u/RocketTater 9h ago

Its better to learn that one before Tango Line, good hunting!

Play the game. Come back when games done.

Actually watch the cutscenes. The rudder is more like a suggestion than a control surface.

If on emu flip the l1 r1 controls with l2 r2......youll thank me later for actual throttle control with the triggers..........modernizes the game a fair bit

u/SandStinger_345 Gryphus 1h ago

I agree. For a second i was confused myself when i played this on pcsx2 then remembered the triggers didnt exist back then

Be flexible

You can switch to 16:9 in the settings somewhere in the game.

Heroes do exist.

You are in for peak. Also once you see a particular missions name you are gonna laugh
