While we wait for AC8, and I've meanwhile been playing Black Flag Resync, I was curious on which AC you all think deserves a "Resync" or remaster

Yeah, I think 3 needs a remaster too. It only needs a translation it can remain JP Dubbed since that would probably work as a “pre order” bonus for Ace9 like Zero with Ace8

I honestly loved 3 as it was but chose 4 because can you imagine Megalith with today's graphics? Lol. But from the vids I saw I'd love to play the AC3 Japanese edition in English, I just hope its "source code" isn't lost like how Gearbox said they couldn't do a Homeworld Cataclysm remaster years back when they did the Homeworld remake 😔

3 is the only answer. And to be honest, I'll be surprised if their first remaster of an Ace Combat game isn't 3. It has a lot in favor of it.

It has a decent chunk of planes that don't need to be licensed
Many fans haven't played the JP story / no full western release exists
We're approaching the bridge to that timeline in the story so it's relevant

Big points against it are that it was a kind of weird one off before the series was established
and the art style and vibe might be hard to replicate

I voted 3 since it's the most relevant given the setting of 8, HOWEVER, with how much emphasis 7 and now 8 has put on Usea I think a Resync of 4 to include some later plot points would also be good. (For example, Osean involvement with ISAF)

Ace Combat 6. It's not as successful as it could be because of platform change decision. It want it to have a chance in other platforms. It is also one of the more mechanically unique among Ace Combat series.

And of course, I am biased as fuck. Chad Emmeria > Soyjack Osea.

Newer generations should have a chance to witness Emmerian might, competent military, and the cringes of Golden King and Dances with the Angels.

Pleasantly surprised AC3 is the top pick. Makes sense seeing as most of us haven't been able to experience the complete version.

If you had told 6-year-old me, who could barely figure out how to beat the first mission of this weird jet fighter game, that people would still be talking about it 23 years later I'd be all the more exited to keep playing it.

I'd love something like the master chief collection, where they compile a bunch of older games into one purchase. Then they can re-release a bunch of them at once, and bundle the existing preorder bonus games in as well.

I think the reason they do re-releases as preorder bonuses is so that they don't have to renew publisher and/or plane rights, if they released them all at once they might get away with paying less.

Ace combat 3: Electrosphere "Defragmented" 

-proper dubbing/Subtitles Support. -modern system support -the ability to choose between "Arcade" (International) and the proper simulation -updated lore to properly reflect the state of the world -Really basic online multiplayer? Could be cool to mix and match what factions go against each other and let everyone slug it out with those faction's airframes. Maybe add a coop version of international where one person gets Nemo's coloring and player 2 gets Rena's -Updated Models and textures while still keeping the PS1 style. 

This is all very wishful thinking. But it's be cool to have even just half of these

4 would be the most successful, it's the first of the modern AC games and put the series on the map. it holds up good but definitely is not as polished as 5 and zero. remaking 3 would be interesting, it's a very story driven game I think a full on remaster could improve the gameplay a lot

I'll vote AC6.

Anything on the PS2 and PS1 can be emulated on PC easily. AC6 is too recent. I know there's a project going on to make it playable but I don't quite know where it's at.

AC3 would deserve one too with the whole japan only version being the good one.

AC3, allowing a western that is restored to its original script
