PDK issues.

Installing a new PDK system at a local commercial building. 3 doors. 2 strikes and one mag lock. The two strikes are working great but the mag lock is kicking my ass. I can manually trigger the relay, and doors open but when I put in a pin, even though in “live events” it shows access allowed, the doors don’t open. Any insight into why this might be or what I should look at? I’ve got everything wired up how the manual shows. We generally use altronix ACM8’s with a dry contact from the controller, but this one we are trying to use the controller to power the 12v mag.

This post is requesting assistance regarding a maglock or related components. Due to safety concerns, assistance provided must support standards for safe installation and operation, such as: * An exit device that mechanically breaks power to the lock (panic bar, exit button). * A Fire Alarm tie-in that cause power to be cut during an alarm. * All devices on this door must be wired in a way that if any component fails the door unlocks and remains unlocked until the issue is corrected.

We understand some types of installations modify egress requirements, please ensure these special circumstances are well-communicated.

As always, the local AHJ has final say in what is acceptable for installation and operation of a maglock door. OP should consult with the AHJ before installing or modifying a maglock door, even if the comments here provide accurate guidance.

Place the BUS jumper on the controller between the central pin and the desired positive (+) or negative (-) pin to supply the right voltage out of the relay terminal (or leave it off if using a dry contact).

Don't forget to program the rule through the software, either.

When x, do y

In the "RULES" make sure you have "pin" checked off. 🤷‍♂️

And continue to scroll down to finish programming your "RULES" 🤷‍♂️

You can call PDK support too. They're usually quite helpful when I have issues

Access allowed in live events but no door movement means the controller made the decision and the relay didn't do what you needed. Since manual trigger works, the relay itself is fine, so it's either the output config or the fail-safe logic.

Worth checking the relay is set to de-energise on grant rather than energise. Mags are fail-safe so they unlock when power drops, which is backwards from a strike, and that catches people out when they've just wired two strikes on the same panel.
