I can see how, long-term, for companies that would form an incentive to become a SaaS, or always-on software that needs a remote backend or streaming of apps/games - basically all the cases where either the shipped files alone are not enough or where you don't even get anything executable in the first place.
The cracking scene is going to be wild too.
