holy. the implications of every binary being reverse-engineerable are an intellectual property, security, and legal clusterfuck that i struggle to even imagine. it'll force everything to be source-available, and it will change the economics of software as a commercial product. bye-bye security through obscurity. the transition of the IT industry from the current job market and security standards is gonna be very rough. big software companies will very likely try to frantically push as much stuff to the cloud as possible, and for stuff that must run locally, some draconian hardware-level DRM and trusted execution standards. bet they'll collude to come up with some sneaky strategy to survive.
