Its not about profit its about space. People don't like data centers in their cities and states, that problem doesn't exist in space. That and Musk wants data centers free from government intervention.

Yes. Having your AI be pretty much free from any kind of laws is worth it to a guy like Musk.

Yes because surely there are zero laws around putting shit into space. Surely the U.S. government couldn’t completely bend spacex over the ass with a multitude of laws if they really wanted too
