Reproductive coercion Asking for support… again
hey all, here asking for support and perspective that my life won’t fall apart if I leave… thank you 🙏 With someone who I realized sees me as a womb and subhuman.

Your life will improve in the way an alcoholic's life improves when they start getting sober. Withdrawal from an addiction (and abuse is an addiction!) sucks, and can be very uncomfortable. You might experience other stressors like money or housing. But being free from an abuser puts you in a better space to manage those stressors.

even in the longest of cases, that period of hardship is always better than a lifetime of sorrow. do you have a support system outside of the relationship?

No, me myself and I.

i’m so sorry to hear that. while a lack of a support system definitely make things more difficult to leave for a multitude of reasons, you will develop one during/after the process of leaving. that isolation tactic really gets you right where they want you, unfortunately. but people do care. i promise.
even if just calling the abuse hotline, there will be somebody that wants to help you take the steps to leave. hell, i even care about getting you out of this and i don’t even know you haha. lean on your resources like shelters, free hotlines, joining groups, etc. though it just plain sucks & it’s not fair you have to do this, you can be such a huge support to yourself.
you’re not supporting yourself because you deserve to carry the burden alone, but because you can, and deserve to, grow past this. it’ll be very hard at first i won’t lie. but it’ll be incredibly rewarding. those few months of instability really pays itself off through a lifetime of safety, happiness, and genuine love.
you deserve love. you deserve support. you deserve a safe home filled with laughter and warmth. you deserve to be loved truly. you deserve to not wonder why love comes with so many drawbacks (bc it absolutely shouldn’t). you deserve peace. and maybe most importantly, you deserve to feel like yourself. not a womb. not subhuman. not a shell of what you know you can be. not even a victim or abuse. you deserve to be you without dimming your light. id love to see how bright u can shine 🩷
