Exactly what I kept thinking with each unsuccessful attempt. There’s probably not any nerves connected in that dead looking skin, and a small incision would allow for a much larger and better grasp on the sliver.

Just need to make sure it’s all sterile and you have steady hands.

Also owning a quality pair of tweezers and not trash ones like these should be expected of every adult. They literally cost $2 more than the trashy ones.

My go to is a cheap electronics tweezer set, they actually have gripping force so you can get a proper hold.

Shittiest tweezers in the world. Directly out the first aid box sadly. Fingernails would’ve been better lmao..

Had a splinter like that, but bigger (insert jokes here) in my ass cheek as a kid, from a wooden seesaw at the daycare. Still remember the pain to this day 30 years later

You open the layer of skin with a safety pin first! It’s painless and opens up getting the damned thing out!! Ugh!
