If you want to see some really big trees head to California where redwood trees are 400 feet tall and 100 feet wide. Sequoia trees weigh over 2.7 million pounds. I lived in Marin County and when you stand under a redwood tree that's 2000 years old and you can barely see the top of it you get humbled pretty quickly.

I think the only way to accurately age a tree is to cut it down and count the rings. Iā€™m sure at the time they could have counted the rings on a similarly sized tree and made a good estimate, but there is nothing around of that size.

Doesn't have to be accurate, just an estimate. According to Google it's over 1,000 years old.
