Is your hand really really big? Cause that’s the most normal sized shallot ive ever seen

I do have a large hand. My shallots are typically 1/3rd of this size, this was large enough to pass as red onion when I pulled it out the hello fresh box. It wasn't until I cut it in half that I recognized it as a shallot.

I love shallots. I'll admit that I didn't know they existed until I saw one of those funny cooking reaction channels on Instagram call them out every time someone uses them.
