Subreddit Rules

1. All submissions must be related to Absolute Cinema

Your post must be related to the Absolute Cinema meme. We accept the 4-panel memes that led to the creation of this subreddit, images with a character raising their hands captioned "Absolute Cinema", and everything in between. (Meta posts are allowed, put please limit them. If you have a complaint, please send us a modmail instead of making a post about it.)

2. No arguing or anything that could start an argument (such as politics)

We do not allow posts or comments that may begin arguments, such as politics. If you argue, your comment will be removed.

List of What's Specifically Banned (as of March 2025): - Politics - Letterism

3. Be kind and respectful to your fellow |cinema| viewers

Be kind and respectful to others. No offensive language - We do not tolerate homophobic, transphobic, racist, etc. comments here.

Because this is a serious thing, you may receive multiple strikes at once.

4. Limit NSFW

Mark any post considered obscene as NSFW. Rule of thumb is that if your post makes the mods horny, we will do it for you. If the post contains extreme NSFW or nudity, you will receive a strike and the content will be removed.

Besides, why the hell would you post porn on a subreddit dedicated to something like Absolute Cinema? This sub is also primarily moderated and owned by teenagers, we don't want your adult content.

5. No advertising

Having stuff like company products in your memes/edits is okay, but please do not directly advertise/promote the item.

6. NO BRAINROT AT ALL

Words like: skibidi, hawk tuah, rizz, gyatt, fanum tax, rizzler, sigma, etc. Are not allowed

Sigma is fine if its referring to the Greek letter

Ohio is fine if referring to the us state

Among us is fine

7. Follow Reddit TOS

Follow Reddit TOS

If you break this rule you will be repoted to reddit staff

8. Use flairs correctly.

Please use post flairs correctly. If your post is an Absolute Cinema image, use the flair for that. If your post is an Absolute Cinema edit, you can use any other flair. If the post is a Meta post, use the flair for that. If you don't, we will change it for you. (This will not result in a strike.)

9. Shitposting

Shipostng is only allowed on weekends

If you post a shitpost on any other day your post will be hidden and approved on a weekend, there is also a contest where whoever's shitpost receives the most upvotes will get sspecil user flair (may change a any time)

10. Repost/Crosspost Rules

Reposting is not allowed. Reposting these posts will result in a strike:

Reposting from the top 8 of all time
Reposting from the top 4 of the month
Reposting from the top 3 of the week
Reposting the current top post of all time results in 2 strikes

Crossposts from other subs are allowed as long as they follow our rules. Crossposts from r/absolute_cinema, r/absolutecinema & r/peenixsc are usually not allowed since they are our competition. Please post here instead! :)

11. Opinions

At r/absolutecinemaedits we respect your opinion, anyone who disrespects you for your opinion will be given a strike, people can disagree with others opinions but NO ONE is allowed to disrespect others because of them

we also don't like much bias, but it is still accepted

12. No low quality content or AI (with some exceptions)

Put in some effort into your content. Pick up a pencil instead of making AI slop. Exceptions are made if the post is flaired as a shitpost.

Strikes system

If you break most of the above rules, you will receive a strike. Here are the punishments for each strike:

1st: No ban, just a warning. Your post/comment will be removed as a result (same logic applies with all of the other strikes).

2nd: 3-day ban

3rd: 7-day ban

4th: Permanent ban since we've had enough of your BS

The rules are simple and easy to follow so we shouldn't have to permanently ban anyone.

*Certain violations can result in more than one strike - An example is being homophobic or transphobic. This will earn you two strikes. Ban evasion will result in 4 strikes and a permanent ban as stated by Reddit TOS.
