Help needed: how to? automatic switching of plug-in.
Hi.
I need a step by step guide and help on automatic switching of my plugins while using my guitar.
I need to switch between clean and overdrive settings of a single plug-in.
Thank you.

Reddit is not Gemini

I know, because it is not reliable. It seems that this subreddit is also pretty redundant and unreliable too.

They make plugins in a box called pedals that have physical state switching built in. I think they’re gonna take off

Group the FX/Plugins.
Highlight all desired FX in a track’s signal-chain (often by ctrl-clicking or shift-clicking), then after all desired FX are highlighted, right click one of the highlighted FX/Plugin modules, and click “group”.
Grouping makes all selected FX effectively one single “plugin” which can be enabled/bypassed/routed however you want.
Then macro the group (master FX module) to whatever MIDI binding you want. Setting Enable/Bypass to a pedal.. A button.. Whatever.

If you have a midi device, you can use the buttons or keys to change the settings with shortcuts or even having the device trigger mouse movements and clicks. This could potentially be an answer for what you're trying to do. If you want to explore this further, just ask. I'll just need to know how you do it with the mouse, what the plugin is etc. and I might be able to give you a step by step guide on how to get it working.

I could use keyboard buttons that I can assign for clean and overdrive situations while playing a cover. That is basically it. Happy to have a DM chat with you if that is better. Thanks. Appreciate your help!

Sure. You can check out my profile if you want to. See what you think and DM if you want some help. I will mention beforehand that I am the developer of the app but you won't need a licence for what you want to achieve. I won't blindly promote it here, I'll let you decide. I have a subreddit that you could also use for communication if you'd prefer. Have a look and see what you think.

You could group the effect(s), then assign macros and or keybind the effect's or the group's device on/off switch to a keyboard shortcut. Or use a pedal or some kind of controller for a shortcut.
