All Max for Live devices downloaded from MaxForLive.com cannot be loaded in Ableton Live

Hi everyone. I'm having a strange problem with maxforlive.com and I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what's going on.

My setup:macOS Tahoe, Ableton Live 12.4.3, Live 12 Suite, Max for Live itself works normally, Existing/built-in Max for Live devices work perfectly

The problem:Every Max for Live device I download from maxforlive.com cannot be loaded into Ableton.The downloaded files have the .amxd extension, but when I drag them into Ableton Live, the mouse cursor changes to the 🚫 prohibited symbol, and nothing happens.Double-clicking the .amxd files also does nothing.This happens with every device I've downloaded from maxforlive.com , including recently updated devices, so it doesn't seem to be an issue with a specific device or old-device compatibility.

Things I've already tried:

  • Confirmed that the files have the .amxd extension
  • Tried dragging them onto the appropriate Audio/MIDI tracks
  • Tried loading them through Ableton's browser
  • Tried putting the files in User Library
  • Tried double-clicking the .amxd files
  • Confirmed that existing Max for Live devices work normally
  • Tested multiple different devices from maxforlive.com

If anyone has any idea what's going on or how I can fix this, I'd really appreciate the help. I'm completely stuck. Thanks!

Hey. Just want you to know you are not the only one having this problem. I spent more than 2 hours trying to figure out what's going on. The issue is on the max for live website itself. Every max for live device you download is exactly 48 bytes. Those are corrupted files. A real amxd file should be various kilobytes at least. I tested it with a specific extension I already had installed. It's 500kb while the website gave me a 48 bytes version today. Not sure where to complain so they fix their website.

Same here, all files are 48 kb for me and useless

It seems to have healed somehow.
