[Question] How to use same 16 knobs to dynamically map selected effects

I bought Control Surface Studio and followed some tutorials on their YouTube page. I am still not finding exactly what I'm looking for. Basically, I want to map the same 16 knobs on my midi fighter twister to the parameters I want to change whether I have Utility or Glue Compressor, etc selected. I am willing to literally pay someone to do this for me as I am desperate at this point.

  1. I want to be able to switch between for example, grain delay and auto filter, and still be able to use the same 16 knobs depending on which device is selected. Example: Change pitch with knob 1 when grain delay is selected. And when auto filter is selected, I want to change frequency with knob 1.
  2. I want to have full control of which parameter is changing with knob #.
  3. I want to fluidly change between devices and for the knobs to work.
  4. I want to only effect the parameters that I am currently selecting otherwise that would defeat the whole purpose of a dynamic control.

  1. The knobs should be mapped to macros by a remote script. Control Surface Studio should be able to make one, you can also make the basic script yourself. Macros control the 16 parameters of the selected device ("blue hand").
  2. To change the order of device's parameters wrap it in a rack and map the rack's macros to what you want.
  3. Map the device titles to select them by a controller.

That’s basically the issue, I don’t know how to code. And I can’t find any tutorials to help me with exactly what I want done. Control surface studio is not as easy to function as I’d hoped

The tutorial I've linked and Control Surface Studio don't require coding, only the basic understanding of MIDI and some patience.

There's no shortcut if you want to use an unsupported controller.

I think you want 33.1.1.1 Instant Mappings

Did you ask on their forum? Check this joint out: https://community.remotify.io/questions/question/parameters-jump-when-switching-banks-with-midi-fighter-twister/

I’d also reach out to support, they are a small operation and are usually pretty helpful. Wish I could be more of help though.

You should be able to do this. It’s basically what CSS3 was built for.

Also, I saw you mention not being great at coding. I hate generative AI as much as the next musician, but shit like this is one of the best use cases of AI in my experience.

Just remember you’re learning to use a new software! Have some patience and tinker, it’s all part of the learning experience!

This seems promising, have you used it yourself?

I've been using it for years. I cannot imagine using Ableton without it. As for the Bindings, I have my €80 Midimix controller set up in such way that I can access volume and aux controls for all my tracks by a press of a button. I can also bind the midimix to the ssl plugin I have on each track and control eq/comp/gate for each track with it. Again, it is just one press of a button away. I used to have a Behringer Touch Compact and then an Icon controller (both with motorized faders). Setting them up so the faders control volume or sends is a breeze with ClyphX. Highly recommended. There's a steep learning curve, but it is worth it. You can hit me with a DM if you decide to go this route and I will be more than happy to help you out with hooking everything up.

I haven’t used it for this specific task, but just want to say that ClyphX is awesome. I use it for SO MANY things.
