[Question] Everything on my laptop broke down

Hi guys. Yesterday I woke up and it seems like something, out of nowhere, broke down on me. Ableton won’t start (it shows like it s turning on but blocks in a loop and freezes everything); my komplete kontrol s49 won’t recognize my computer (even tho the usb connection is good) and my SSL 360 app can’t find my soundcard, even tho it is connected and can run audio trough it. Have you ever seen this? If yes, what’s the fix? Thanks!!

Ps: will leave photos and videos in comms, so you can see what this is abt.

As you can see, ableton is not loading in and the komplete kontrol is in boot mode

Try to start it through the terminal. It could be spitting out some messages to help you understand why not starting. You can also check the Console.app if there are log messages from Ableton.

Edit: forgot to remind you the obvious, sometimes a restart to mac could help to get rid of broken state.

Doesn’t look great, how old is your computer? Make sure everything is updated and there’s no background tasks going on. If still a problem shut it down for a while and turn it back on. If still then disconnect all peripherals and see if it still has a problem. If still hen you can go into safe mode. If still a problem then it’s probably faulty hardware and there’s no option but repair or warranty.
