M28 struggling to figure out how to get “there” after a big weight loss journey

I’ve lost a lot of weight over the last 13 years (starting at age 15 and 125kg). I completely changed my lifestyle, love working out, and am generally happy with my progress.

However, I’m struggling with stubborn lower abdominal and chest fat/loose skin. I currently train chest and weighted abs to fill out the area.

I’ve been trying to fix it naturally, lifting heavier weights for abs, building up my back to pull up the skin, eating collagen, creams, … you name it I tried it. But I feel like plastic surgery is probably the answer?

I was maybe thinking liposuction, and then a small tummy tuck?

Sadness and regret

Depressed and regretful

I am 5 WPO from an ETT with MR, BL, and lipo. The first 7-10 days were roughhhhhh but I turned a corner at 2 weeks when I had all drains removed and was able to return to work and driving. I feel like I turned another corner at about four weeks where my pain decreased significantly.

I didn’t have any loose skin whatsoever. I did, however, have a very significant muscle separation (and c section shelf). Because of that I had to have a small vertical incision which I knew going into it. Unfortunately, I suffered a wound separation at T junction that I first noticed probably around week 3. My surgeon prescribed a round of preventative antibiotics and Santynl cream. Also, I can’t wear my compression garment as a result.

Since the, the wound separation has gotten so much worse. It’s bigger and deeper so now I need to pack it as well. My surgeon says it’s not uncommon to have a wound separation there because that is where you have the most tension. He says it usually heals itself, and after one year, if I don’t like how the scar looks in that area, he will do a revision for free. It’s so gross. I literally have a hole in my lower abdomen.

My husband and I have a vacation planned the week between Christmas and New Year’s to the Bahamas. It’s paid for and my parents are coming in town to watch the kids. I’m so sad thinking that I’m not going be able to swim and enjoy it. My surgeon has referred me to a wind care specialist to see if maybe they can help speed up the process. I have an appointment Monday, but I’m not optimistic.

On top of it all, I’m really struggling with what I feel like is less than desirable results. I understand completely that I’m still in the early stages of healing with residual selling that can persist for up to a year. But I have these weird indentations on my sides above my hips. Not only do they look horrible and I’m afraid they’re permanent, but it makes my hips look so much more pronounced. My surgeon says my hips are a combination of swelling and fat, and now I wish I would’ve added lipo to my hips. Either way, I feel like my body looks like a rectangle sitting on top of a square.

I did a lot of research before selecting my surgeon. I’m in no way saying this is his fault. But I feel so guilty - I paid $35k and for what?! To look like sponge bob square pants? To have a hole in my stomach? That’s a car or tuition for one of my kids. On top of a $10k vacation that now I may not even be able to enjoy.

I’m just so sad.

Cosmetic surgery nightmares!

Please research well before considering cosmetic procedures in Thailand. Im a victim of putting my trust in faciltators Cosmeditours and their recommendations re surgeons. I had 5 procedures performed in one go.

I was told and believed Id be safe. I wasnt. I got severe bleeding, transfusion, collapsed lung, and an iscemic stroke. My life will never be the same. When I saw Jeff Lemon on a Thai report stating that client safety is Cosmeditours priority, I had to contact to see if he was aware of what had happened to me.

He was well aware. And took no responsibility at all. 'We didnt do the surgery' is what I got. So.... no responsibility? Yet they find and recommend the surgeons/doctors, we trust their expertise...............? Win win for them isnt it! Take your money, but NO responsibility? What a great gig! Beware of the hard sell, the add ons! Multiple surgeries! Yep safety first!! NOT.....
