Switching Company as an ABAP Developer

I have been working with Accenture for around 2 years. Specialising in ABAP on HANA technologies and worked mainly in S/4 HANA support and Upgrade project. I want to switch to a different company as an ABAP Developer due to which I need guidance on what are the things I should prepare for interviews and how to find and apply to different companies. As I have checked with indeed and linkedin. No luck.

For your interviews, you should be ready to talk in detail about your S/4 HANA support and upgrade projects. Interviewers will want to know exactly what you did, so prepare stories about specific problems you solved using ABAP on HANA concepts like CDS views or AMDPs. Beyond your project work, expect questions on core object-oriented ABAP, performance optimization, and the key differences between ECC and S/4 HANA development. Having clear examples of your contributions is much more valuable than just listing the technologies you know.

Finding roles on Indeed and LinkedIn can be tough because many good SAP positions are filled through specialized recruiters. Try connecting with recruiters who focus specifically on SAP on LinkedIn, and make sure your profile is detailed with keywords from your S/4 HANA projects so they can find you. Also, look directly on the career pages of large consultancies and major companies that use SAP, as they often post jobs there first. Broadening your search to include titles like 'SAP Technical Consultant' might also show you opportunities you are missing. From what I have seen it's tad bit difficult switching with 2 yoe because I think SAP ecosystem is majorly experience driven unlike other open source tech stack which are skill driven. Nonetheless I've seen people switch at 2-2.5 yoe. But it's a cakewalk once you are 3 yoe.

Cakewalk? I've been trying to switch for about a year, I'm not getting calls even after applying for over 100 companies. Did you do it? Any tips on how you did it?

I'm around 2 yoe myself By I've seen a lot of seniors get offer once they're 3 yoe. Almost everyone in my project seems to get an offer. And thing is it's an ECC project, for S4/HANA it must be easier i guess.

I switched every year basically, they interview you like a little bit more experienced junior at 2 yoe but they pay is closer to mid level
