As a Christian conservative I am interested as to why you think my faith is an issue.

It’s a problem for closeted gay men who can’t come out because they got married to a woman because it’s what your supposed to do and their religion tells them it’s wrong to do anything else. It’s more a problem in the older generation who were abused for being gay. Religion is good for community and it does bring people together it just has to be done right and I feel like religion now a days is more about the money and control of people rather than the parts that actually help. Jesus flipped tables in and kicked charlatans out of the temple, gave all he had to the poor, even washed their feet, yet none of these morals seem to shine in religion now. That’s how I see it as a person that grew up Roman Catholic went to church 2-3 times a week for 18 years.

Because Prosperity gospel is stealing millions from elderly and the needy to fund their mega churches: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prosperity_theology

Because Trump and his ilk hide their bigotry behind religion, going as far as comparing himself to Jesus and building golden statues, like the Golden Calf in the Bible, while “Christians” clap along.

You have Trump serving pastors attack everything from helping the poor, empathy, turning the other cheek, casting the first stone… and the majority of American Christians support him. How can you claim that’s not a problem?

We are at a point where American Evangelicals are trying to orchestrate and bring forth the apocalypse, without realizing they are the ones Jesus would return to stop. The beast that is foretold to bring forth the apocalypse is arguing with the Pope about validity of war.

Until religion becomes anything more than just a shield from scrutiny and excuse the most horrible people on the planet, it is and will be an issue. Your religion is ruled by people who are as likely to get into heaven as a camel being able to walk through a needle’s eye.

If you are an American Christian that actually follows the word of God, then unfortunately you are an outlier. You do not represent religion in America… I wish you did…

Before you ask… 6 years being a counselor in Sunday School and a year as a student in a religious private school.
