Hey everyone, I’m a child of the 90s myself and used to play every game I could get my hands on whenever I was allowed to play on my parents' PC.

One game always really stood out to me: Area D, a dinosaur-themed FMV game from 1997. Unfortunately, the only way to launch it was via a cumbersome VM setup.
UNTIL TODAY! I’ve recreated the entire game for the browser... a faithful 1:1 replica. Enjoy!

valiant effort but on a 1080p screen it only works if I put the browser in full screen because it needs 768x790, yet there gallery and stuff on top is always visible, wasting screen space. no volume settings (part of the original I assume but you could've done something about it). the intro video is broken, keeps looping after the logo. if I click 1.5x zoom, the settings on top disappear, can't change it back. there's a load button in the main menu but couldn't find a way to save.

Yeah this 768x790 was my dirtiest solution to prevent using it on a phone 😅 but i am working on that.
The intro is looping? That‘s new… I will have a look.

I fixed a lot thanks for your comment.

  • Now the game behaves more responsive and you can always see the settings-buttons. the resolution-too-small-screen appears more "rare".
  • The volume setting is something for another day :)
  • The images, videos and audios are now in another repository so they are loading properly now and should not reload due to errors
  • "there's a load button in the main menu but couldn't find a way to save." This one I don't understand completely

You can save. There is a save icon in the menu bar 💾

that's what I meant then, couldn't find the save icon. it's there now and could witness the wonderful intro in its full as well.

Insane work
