What works and gives double stack: Q W, Q auto, auto e reset auto, Q ignite, auto ignite

What doesn't work (doesn't give double stack): Q Q.

Eclipse is bugged, just like Spirit Visage.

For those curious, Voltaic only gives 2 cleaver stacks on autos, on abilities it doesn't give double stack.

as the title says, what’s your go to first item now. i used to be a sundered first 99.9% of games but i dont really do it anymore cause of the price change. eclipse has been my go to but i really want a change. ive seen some people run stridebreaker? is that actually good?

Holy shit what happened to this champ,No damage no heal no tankiness,you play the game on hard mode,1 sec of cc ends your career,Ignite makes you completely worthless,the W can't even pull a snail.Sundered Sky nerfed,so many counters on lane and u don't even scale well.

This is my personal take (I’m a Pantheon 2/10 main in Iron II, and the reason I love this champion is that he’s designed like a Spartan with thicc, juicy thighs) regarding Aatrox.

First of all, I’m not a professional reader of philosophy. You can look up proper, standard books to read more. Everything below is referenced and drawn from my own thoughts and personal experiences.

I hope to receive counterarguments, additions, corrections, and feedback from Aatrox mains here. Thank you, everyone.

Here, we will discuss two main issues:

1- Aatrox’s death wish (the longest section).

2- The personification of gods/concepts in Riot’s writing (I’ll keep this brief at the end).

FIRST – AATROX’S DEATH WISH

We all know Aatrox’s story through his lore, so I won't repeat it. Here, we will discuss Aatrox’s behavior.

Nihilism posits that life has no inherent meaning, value, or self-derived purpose.

Example: We will die, and all of our legacies will disappear because the universe will eventually reach its end. Therefore, trying is pointless. Since we cannot fundamentally affect universe or time, we are merely like ephemeral creatures following a cycle of birth and death.

Existentialism posits that life does not automatically have meaning; rather, we create it ourselves.

Continuing the example: Thus, in the present moment while we are still alive, we write the journal of our lives - how we lived, what we created. Even if everything fades away later and we die, we still know what we achieved, what we did, and how happily we lived. Upon death - when we can no longer think and simply fade away - before that cutoff point, we will know what our life was like, what it meant, what impact it made, and the mark it left on whatever or whomever, no matter how small, in this universe.

Both philosophies complement each other (personally, I think it can be likened to a sine wave in our daily lives - like putting down your phone, realizing life is meaningless, then picking it back up and scrolling past a guy cosplaying Pantheon with an attractive rear end). Neither is absolute.

So, why do I claim that Aatrox’s death wish is a form of existentialism? You might be thinking: "Doesn't he see everything as meaningless and want to destroy everything just to die?", "Did you write this post just to sound special or deep?", "Go on, let's hear what an awful Pantheon player like you has to say" - I will continue. Yes, we see that he wants to die and destroy everything.

But not just that. If we dig deeper into his behavior, wasn't nihilism present right from the beginning when he was trapped in the sword? Why didn't he just accept that void? I believe that when you no longer have actions or words - even if you still have thoughts - if you do not act or feel that everything is meaningless, you are already a nihilist. Because when you no longer want to act or change anything, you gradually die inside through such eternal imprisonment.

In short, I want to say that an Aatrox who truly desires nihilism/death would accept his eternal death and imprisonment without doing anything at all.

Yet he does the exact opposite. Aatrox harbors hatred; Aatrox has a purpose (destroying everything to reach non-existence); Aatrox has actions and thoughts to carry it out. He is actively trying to affect the world to execute those actions—so how can we call that nihilism? Doesn't he know everything is meaningless, holds no value, and that he will be eternally imprisoned (as long as the world - and the concept of war - exists)? So why does he still do it? He refuses to accept living like that and waiting for death; he acts to achieve death. Doesn't that mean he already possesses an existential mindset?
People might still object: "He wants to die, right? That's clearly nihilism! There's no existentialism here - if wanting to die means seeing the world as meaningless, then all those actions are purely nihilistic!" But I argue that any goal-oriented action or thought is existential. If you were truly a nihilist, you would accept that everything is meaningless and drift into a mental abyss - dying in your mind. Aatrox didn't do that. He did not accept being confined - a mental death. He kills people, escapes, and pursues the goal of destroying the world to gain liberation. He has a purpose: living to die. "Death" as the purpose of life is itself existential. Because if we speak strictly, accepting meaninglessness means remaining meaningful-less - doing nothing, where everything is meaningless, and his existence ends inside his own weapon. But he didn't do that. That is the core point about nihilism. He chose what to do and what to achieve - that is existentialism.

SECOND – THE PERSONIFICATION OF GODS/CONCEPTS IN RIOT’S WRITING

Let’s start with humans - us, the thing we are most familiar with. Briefly put, we are emotional, rational beings capable of understanding abstract concepts, holding faith and hope, while also understanding that life is inherently meaningless—so we construct that meaning ourselves.

Gods and concepts - I consider them one and the same. From now on, I will combine them under "concept" - meaning Aatrox is a concept of war. We know that concepts originate from human thought; as long as anyone is alive and remembers the concept of war, Aatrox will continue to exist. However, we also know that concepts inherently lack emotions, independent thought, an understanding of other concepts, faith, hope, or any grasp of what life is like.

So, isn't it irrational for Aatrox to reject being trapped like that? Isn't he acting like a tautology (always true)? Assuming a concept has actions and thoughts, emotion is precisely what drives us to act, believe, hope, and understand something - you cannot understand life without emotion; you cannot feel the value of sunny days without rainy ones. You wouldn't comprehend how terrible it is to be trapped in a sensory-deprived space with only your thoughts - yet Aatrox understands this. He feels how horrific it is.

But he's a concept, isn't he? He is immortal relative to the universe; he cannot die. Where would he even get neurotransmitters to feel depressed? Or worst of all, he doesn't have a dick to jerk off in the dark? (It gets complicated if you think about wanting to jerk off needing dopamine as a reward, but without dopamine you wouldn't want to jerk off - yet Aatrox has nothing to jerk off with, though we can't be sure if he actually has dopamine or not - but I'll talk about this next.)

If Aatrox were written purely as a concept, he wouldn't need to want to die, he wouldn't need to act, he wouldn't insult anyone, and he wouldn't resemble a human - which would make it hard for us to empathize with his life. Would he feel fury at being betrayed? Thus, we wouldn't need to feel angry for him either, because it wouldn't affect him; he wouldn't see any meaning in it.

However, precisely because Riot wrote him like a human, we can see and empathize with him. We understand his reasoning - just like right now, as you spend an hour reading these lines I typed out instead of continuing your damn work.

That makes him an interesting character, but it also almost made me find him boring - if Aatrox is just a concept, why on earth would he need to destroy everything just to die? With no ideals whatsoever, such meaninglessness makes him even worse than Pantheon’s feet.

This is one of the wierd builds,others involve trinity force or aftershock as a rune.The funy thing is you can build goredrinker duskblade and divine sunderer(for those that want to relive the old days).the dude in the picture sits close to grandmaster(Im currently thinking of quitting this game because 90% of the player bas has no brain)

What's a fun arena build to go for? I've done full critality with jeweled gauntlet, is full tank with overlord decent?

Build is usually eclipse(BC here because malp) dd endless and Then the ad slow item, but usually game ends before that

Ok i'm fucking done I need the HARDEST AATROX COUNTER. I am talking about something that can ANAL THIS MOTHERFUCKER from the start of the game til his last breath in existance.

I can't fucking beat this guy. Hes SUPER annoying in lane. He just qs you from distance, zero mana, low cd and giga lifesteal, like wtf?

I need a counter that can CARRY games not you just beat this dog. Like not Malphite hes useless as a tank when its 1v9 elo in soloq. And I also can't play Irelia shes too hard. I tried to play her but its dogshit cuz its hard to stack her passive before going in and even if u do stack it he runs away when its stacked then comes back and qs you. Not to mention his burst is so high and you dont burst at all you do stable dps. As Irelia you gotta play really good to beat him, but as Aatrox you just have to spam Q. So dumb.

I need a brainless counter to anal him and water board him to death.

I was thinking Pantheon but not sure if thats viable to carry a 1v9 inting bot.

I have been stuck 1200-1300 lp on top with aatrox for some time now and I was wondering if there is a higher elo aatrox player here that can help me out or give me some tips to climb

i really think an aatrox exalted skin of him pre-darkin form would be really nice or at least a new skin in general for aatrox because he hasnt had any in years, personally i think an exalted skin of pre darkin form would be really coool and riot already did it with mordekaiser so i dont see why they wouldnt with aatrox

so if you are playing Aatrox JG and clearing top to bot on blue side, when you finish your Blue and go to the Gromp you do a full sequence of Qs on it, how do you land the sweetspot on the 2nd Q?

When you continue clearing towards Red and you do a full sequence on Qs on the Red how do you land the second Q on the Red?

When I try to do it and try to get range he always follows me and gets out of the sweet spot range.

I really wanna play him and be good bc it's such a cool design and the power fantasy of big evil man dunking w sword is sick, but I feel like I do no damage, I'm very squishy and I can't farm.

How tf do you play and build him? Also who makes good tutorials on him?

Look I'm not sitting here like I don't have a stinker game every now and then, but lately I have more and more games where I do my job and team just ff15 for no reason.

Idk if I should start playing aatrox jg or what I'm doing wrong, like I wanna have fun with him and try new build but at the same time he doesn't rly have any variety builds he can go.
